Light of the Night ~ Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contact me for Pricing! Laurie Ouch. Woke at three with leg cramps. Up again at four with migraine. Not the best start to the last day of 2007. So much in my mind with decisions for the new year and wishing today had 48 hours to get it all done to start the new year fresh and ready to roll. As I was unpacking I came across a list of things I made ten years ago at Christmas. The idea was if you write things down and read it over and over, it will happen....sort of like praying with faith and it too never fails...God makes things happen. Here is my list broken up into Do Have and BE and REMEMBER these were written TEN years ago.... I must compile a new list for tomorrow...but here is what was ten years ago. To be braver.... I am. To embrace life and live fuller....I am. To give more to the world...I try. To be happier....I am. To enjoy traveling....I do a bit more! I still mi
NEW YEAR SOULS ~ Abstract Horse Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 36 inches, Gallery Wrap Canvas, Ready to hang! SOLD on Daily Painters January 1, 2008 ~ THANK YOU! Gallery Value $3600 I can't seem to get a photo strong enough to capture the tones and hues in this painting. IN person it has a captivating appearance that pulls you into the center where you feel as if the horses are running around you. LEAPING LIZARDS I kept hearing rustling in the tissue among the presents last week. Sort of discouraging because of the large rat I know lives in the yard out front and I do not welcome him in the house. Yesterday as I was sweeping up and preparing the damp mop the wood floors, this little guy was sunning himself in the middle of the floor. He didn't seem to mind the photo shoot, but as soon as I attempted to scoop him up to put him outside, where I think he needs to live, he shoot back under the couch and I couldn't find him after that. I have been praying about my ar
DIRECTIONAL ~ Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 48 x 2 inches, Oil on Deep Wrap Canvas SOLD THANKS for supporting Daily Painters Contact me for Pricing Laurie Pace Saturday early before the city has awaken....I am here at the computer blogging. I painted until almost nine last night on a few pieces, going from easel to easel. Will paint more this morning and then I have to clean house. AND unpack books. This is on a huge canvas 24 x 48. I squirm when I paint on these because Terry hates shipping them. I do not paint on them often for this reason. Carl from Pane in the Glass came yesterday and replaced my broken Kitchen window and fixed the curio cabinet that was broken in the move. He is such a pleasant man and I was fortunate to find him through the internet when we arrived. NOW, Terry only has to replace the sliding glass door in the kitchen. Then we will have all the cracked glass areas replaced. Do you have cracked areas in your life? Are they in need of repair?

NOT OF THIS PLACE ~ Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 X 27 inches, Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contact me for pricing or to purchase. Laurie It has been a whirl wind of a week and I have not painted very much! This is one I finished while Billie has been here visiting. It is rather spiritual in person, the deep purples have faded out on the upper left edge. Christmas has been full of family and love and so much easier living close to my parents. My mother is mending from a pulled back and we see our family doc this morning. Billie is only here one more full day and we woke up to rain this morning. Hopefully it will just be morning rain. Still chilly at 42 outside though, but thankful no ice! Here is the tree set up in the Music room. Terry was able to get the sliding door open to the garden room from the living room just before family arrived Christmas Eve. This is looking from the living room into the now open garden room door. Billie did a fabulous job transforming the

Peace be with you this cherished holiday season. May the Light Love and Joy of this holiday fill your heart and your mind. Laurie and Terry Pace “So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.”- Luke 2:1
Earth Dreams ~ Abstract Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contact me for Pricing or Commission Work. Laurie SOLD on Daily Painters! THANK YOU! TOMORROW you will FINALLY see more pictures of the inside of the house. Billie and I are finishing up the rooms in preparation for Christmas. Yesterday we bought out Lowe's garden area that had azealas half price...HUGE azealas Half price....along with roses, begonias, pansies etc. We were pushing through Lowe's with three baskets/carts over flowing FULL of flowering bushes and lush green plants, while outside it was blowing cold with winds at 35 mph and clouds and cold. I have been working on still unpacking boxes and cleaning basic rooms and Billie has been busy with that garden room. It really rocks. We lit candles and sat in the room last night with Terry and the dogs and just enjoyed the ambiance. Tonight is my little brothers Annual Christmas Eve party one day early. I get to
THREE KINGS ~ Contemporary Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 36 inches, Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contact me for Pricing. Laurie Yesterday Billie and I made a huge dent cleaning out the garden room and unpacking crystal. She hung glass holders in the bar for the wine glasses to slip into and got those safely in place. Her skills are endless as she flawlessly whipped out ideas for the studio. I even have my HUGE drafting board in here now, as well as TP's two desks, and room to teach and bring in my tables. Unbelievable! I will take pictures soon. I am painting this morning and hopefully she will be up soon to paint with me. She has been wanting to paint all week and I am like, "I cannot paint with the house like this..." I always work before play and painting is a joyful play for me. We discussed styles and ideas for the direction of my art. As a gallery owner she always seems to be a step ahead on what is pulling directionally. I am eager to paint.
THE GAZE ~ Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 inches, Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas SOLD on Daily Painters the first two hours this morning! Thank you. contact me.... Laurie Okay some before and after pictures. This before picture was taken from the opposite end of the room and you can still see the white carpet and peach colored walls. The room was very French Provincial. We added mahogany floors and gray walls in different values. The garden room is not cleared out yet, but with this early morning picture, you only see the reflections of the tree. The room where the tree is, is an entertainment room for musical instruments. It is constructed with a high ceiling for acoustics. I have my harp in there right now but it was built for a baby grand. In the next month I will shop for a used one here in Dallas. I sorely miss playing. It is something I do daily. I have been playing my harp, but it is just not the same. I have played the piano since the second grade. My paren
Moonlight ~ by Laurie Justus Pace Oil on Canvas (Large! I am laughing because I could not find it in the boxes to measure it~) I think it is 24 x 30 or 22 x 28!) Contact me for Pricing or Commission Work Laurie Why do I feel I am taking steps backwards instead of forwards? If it were not for Morgan I would be days behind. Terry is living in a dimension where I can't find him. Last night he told me when he got home from work he would put the stove in so I could start cooking. Didn't happen. This morning he was suppose to take two boxes to fedex that must arrive before Christmas and they are still here on the table. That incurs two more additional hours into my day that I do not have to drive out to FEDEX at noon today. I am literally only painting in the wee hours of the night and falling into bed just to rise and get my book work done in the mornings before the crews arrive. The maturity of my youngest totally blows me away right now. He has been working non stop to get
THE COLOR OF ROSE ~ Abstract Flowers by Laurie Justus Pace Two Gallery Wrap Canvas 12 x 12 Acrylic Contact me for pricing. Laurie I have to figure out where to shoot my paintings in this house. Everything is blurry because of the lack of light. Terry put in some new lights last night but I have not painted by them yet. Will be doing so in a few moments. I really enjoyed sharing the studios of everyone in the daily painters! WOW. I didn't post a painting yesterday because I didn't know it would pick up both. I missed that email but that is okay. Yesterday we drove to the airport to pick up Billie Bauman. She left Rochester NY with 10 degrees and blowing snow and arrived in Sunny Dallas at 65 degrees and clear blue skies. The high today will be seventy. It will get cooler this weekend. Believe it or not we have had several Snowy Thanksgivings and a handful of snowy Christmas Days. We took 12 packages to Fedex, two were international, and bless those folks, they ran us throu
Studio IN THE RAW 6:21 a.m. Central Time December 18, 2007 Laurie Pace When they suggested we shoot our studios for this post I had hopes of being unpacked and actually ready for this. I am not. I don't even have house pictures to post and I have Billie Bauman arriving today from NY to stay for 10 days...I do not have a toilet seat on the new TOTO toilet in her bathroom. There is not even a bed in the room she is to sleep in. SO my studio is way down on the list. She is in the air right now flying from Rochester and snow as I am typing this. I need to jump into the shower and head for the airport...but meanwhile here it is, MY STUDIO IN THE RAW. Yesterday was to be the day to finish up and rest before company arrived but by mid morning I knew we were sunk. Sanding in the guest bath took too long and the sanding seemed to travel all over the house causing more for me to dust and redust. At ten I was in the kitchen observing the guys removing cabinets to get the ventahood in
TEXTURE ONE ~ Abstract Horse By Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas SOLD on Daily Painters Laurie No pictures today. We fell behind a day and the boys took Sunday off. I went and picked up my dad and took him grocery shopping with me. He drives that cart pretty darn good. He wheels it around like a NASCAR racers in fact. He would be potentially scary driving a car! I have family that flew to St Louis yesterday arriving to snow. Billie Bauman, Owner of Earth Works Art Gallery flies into Texas tomorrow morning. She has to fly out of Rochester and that is pretty snowed in right now. She will bask in the 66 degree temps we have daily now. At night it is in the low forties. At least we got a break from all the rain. It is a joy to think of friends in for Christmas. She will have the task of helping me pick out a tree for the house and decorating a bit. I hope we get that far in preparation today. The men are preparing to cut off my computer off and I must
Flower Trail ~ Impressionistic Landscape by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inch, Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas SOLD Laurie Pictures tomorrow of the house. I have a raging cold and can't decide which part of my body hurts more. I have two days to get well before company arrives for Christmas. My son has busted his hands and body trying to complete all the work here at the house. If and when we sell, he definitely deserves part of the money made on the house. He has been unswerving and totally focused every day...8 days a week. He does his substitute training for Northwest ISD on Tuesday and we are praying a full time teaching position will follow. Pray with me for this please. The house. Well yesterday Ron plastered the walls in the bathroom where it took us literally three days to get the paper off the walls. Morgan used JASCO and removed turquoise paint from the buffet and we found all sorts of neat designs in colored tiles. I have to figure out what color to paint the cabinets.
GRAY HERD ~ Abstract Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 36 inches, Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contact me for pricing or commission work. Laurie Pace At two o'clock this morning I was laying in bed with my sore throat and stuffy nose thinking of blogging and came up with so much to say and now my brain is slow to bring thought to paper. Today is my oldest Brother's birthday. He was the one when we were kids playing with his army men, that he would dump some men out for me to play with in the dirt and usually always in an ant bed. I was four years younger and I am sure a pain in his back end. His birthday card has yet to be unearthed, but I have found the small interesting thing that Charlene found and sent to me. It is pretty cool, but since there is an outside chance he might be reading this, I can't say! hint: it is orange and peach in color. Happy Birthday Bill. I hope we can jam soon on our guitars. Have you ever heard the term two day underwear? We might
Explosive Energy ~ Abstract Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 24 inches, Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contact me for pricing or commission work. Laurie Pace Friday dawns cold. Both dogs are curled up on their "Found" beds under my feet. I can't roll on my chair or I will roll on them. The house is making major strides thanks to Morgan and Uncle John. Kyle's floor men are done and Kyle will return today to do the sealer on the slate floors. They are GORGEOUS. Uncle John, Morgan and his friend Ron have been painting non stop. I had not planned on having the house painted inside everywhere, really only our bedroom, but the guys have knocked most of it out. When they are done this weekend only one room will remain unpainted, that is my studio. We will get to it later. The dogs live in here with me anyway! What is left to paint is the dining room, halls, kitchen and guest bathroom. not much. Last night I was cratered having been up so early. Terry and I sh
Explosive Energy ~ Abstract Horse Art by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD 24 x 24 inches, Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contact me for prices or commission work. Click here. I am painting again. This is one of the pieces I painted her at the new studio. Very brilliant color adorns the background with two horses exploding across the surface. No house pictures today...we are painting walls and unpacking. I am painting inbetween as well. I hope to post some it's almost done shots soon. I am struggling at this moment to stay above water with so much happening. I am ready to finish unpacking and getting on with life but it will be a few more weeks before we can do that. Staying focused on the Lord and His light is all I can do to be calm. In His Light, Laurie " He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recogni
WOLF PACK 2007 ~ Abstract Wildlife by Laurie Justus Pace This painting is available at THE RARE GALLERY in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Contact them for exact pricing. They can ship it for Christmas! 24 x 36 inches, Gallery Wrap Canvas, Oil Good morning from the construction site. I cannot believe I am doing this at Christmas. Billie Bauman, The owner of the NY Gallery, Earth Works Art Gallery, is coming to visit over the Christmas break. I will have the potty in the guest bathroom the day before she arrives. I only hope I have the guest room ready. Here is where I am painting right now. The lighting is not the best, but we will get to it. This is the round wall in the living room that on the outdoors is beautiful stone and inside we scraped off layers of latex paint. The surface was not primed correctly or sanded, so Morgan is putting his skills to work on this one. Kyle, the contractor that was sent to us by God and Pam and Jud Kendall, is wonderful. He does landscaping and water feat
Best Friends Two ~ Child and Pony by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 inches Oil on Linen Panel SOLD Commissioned Painting This is painting I was working on before the move. We are in the midst of boxes everywhere right now. The studio had breathing room but is now boxed in. Below I will post pictures of what is happening here in the house as we go through the renovations of this home. Remember with this second week of advent to prepare yourself. Forgive someone today and remember to in turn ask forgiveness from someone you might have hurt. God's Light to you! Pictures below. I could not figure out how to type next to the picture. Sorry for the mess and I am out of time~ Laurie "But now, for a brief moment, the LORD our God has been gracious in leaving us a remnant and giving us a firm place in his sanctuary, and so our God gives light to our eyes and a little relief in our bondage." Ezra 9:8 This is Terry's dad, Ben, repairing a leaky shower for us. This is the dr
FALL CACTUS ~ Flower Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 30 x 30 inches Gallery Wrap Canvas SOLD Commission Painting Contemporary Art for the Home Well, as I sit here the house is 49 degrees. I asked Terry to make sure the heat was on as I climbed into bed exhausted last night about eight. I fell asleep but it was already cold. When I woke to Dogs making noise at five thirty it was REALLY cold. Nudging him in bed did not produce any results, so I hurried the dogs outside and found the flashlight. (Why the flashlight? The light switches in the house are like none I have ever seen and you need a road map to find which one lights up an area.) I checked the heater first and I could see the gas flame very cheerfully flickering. I made my way thru the box maze to the thermostat and found indeed the heat was on but the fan was on auto. Nothing was running. Either the thermostat is not functioning or the auto fan was not. SO I switched the Fan to ON to make it run full time and presto I hear
Dallas at Sunset ~ Fauvistic Landscape by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 36 inches Oil on Canvas Contemporary Commissions for your home! SOLD I am sitting at my computer surrounded by boxes. Walls of boxes. The best part is we are here. The worst part is we are in a jumbled mess. This painting was a commission piece I did for an NBC Producer this summer for her home in Dallas. She wanted White Rock Lake and the Dallas Sky line... painted in July this year. I have an issue when folks simply cannot do their job. With this move and this mess I have experienced ONLY this. I know God is laughing his sides off in heaven. Now the floor men have an excuse. We hired them late to get the mahagony wood floors left. It was suppose to be done in two days. We are on day five this afternoon. The master bedroom we asked Terry's uncle to paint for us so I could have ONE settled unpacked room and this is day four today and he hasn't started yet. He has been busy all over the house caulking and
Venturing ~ Horse Abstract Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 on Linen Panel Contemporary Art for your Home! Contact me for Pricing or commission work. Laurie Pace Hummm, my hands are not covered with oil paint, but are chapped and dry from paper and boxes. We made our first trip to the new house. I am still in a stupor. She removed doors, light bulbs, switches etc. Does any seller clean the house and leave what they are suppose to leave? At the old house the man took hooks off doors that left HUGE wholes in the doors. He ripped speakers out of the walls from his surround sound....this woman took doors. Not inside doors, OUTSIDE doors, doggy doors. Then the floor man, Kyle ( what a gift he is!) discovers as he pulls up the nasty carpet in the living room, the center circle of concrete where the original round fireplace was located. No way he could nail the floor down to it, so he spent an hour last night jackhammering it out to be lower. The floor will be started today
