Night Fall 2024 Learning to Trust what we cannot see.

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2023 First Day of 2024 Fades to Night Skies  by Laurie Pace   It is the end of that day again…the very first day of the new year. It has slipped into darkness with a cold wind out of the north.  Good food and great company made the day seem fuller.  Terry cooked up the black eyed peas and I made black bean meatballs and mashed potatoes.  It was delicious with cold slaw and cornbread! As evening darkens we pray we all learn to trust what we cannot see.  Give us light in this evening where shadows have crept in during the day.  May God’s love stream light around them and chase them away. 2023 has ended and for some, this year, challenged with illness, fears, pain and death, tears were shed with losses and trials. In the trials faced it is impossible to see your love Father. Give us faith not to doubt. Give us hope that you will see us through.  Give us your as...

Layers of color and overlays with contrast and surprise dynamics weave together this entire painting over a black background, keeping part of the "realism",  while loosing to abstract shapes throughout. It is stunning and a perfect gift size and only $125.00 This Blog took a turn to share what I prayed for today, for my adult children and all the grandchildren.  A group of art friends has been discussing the lack of the presence of faith in the lives of many Americans. It is important to live our faith every day so it  becomes a part of our working mind and our lives.  I posted this on Facebook This morning to close friends which included my family. " I am praying for all three o...

Fleeting Moment in Time... figurative painting by Texas artist Laurie Pace

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2023 Fleeting Moment SOLD  Oil on Canvas  by Laurie Pace   Shop other Available Artwork.  Sign up for my quarterly newsletter and painting sales. I am thinking the year I painted this was 2004 and probably fall. I really enjoyed the journey and the intended message with rose in hand was the thoughts we cannot read. Perhaps if her gaze was part of the painting, you might see wonderment or joy....OR you might see tears and heartbreak.  What ever it was... it is fleeting moments never to be locked in time, but we all manage to lock all these fleeting moments into feelings that linger in our minds and hearts.  “ Life is made up of a collection of moments that are not ours to keep. The pain we encounter throughout our days spent on this earth comes from the illusion that some moments can be held onto. Clinging to people and experiences that were n...

Flower Power - The Beauty in a Daughter- Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Central Market and Costco.  Seems like with Covid and the shutdown of the past 400 plus days, I see my daughter less and yet more.   I see my daughter more as she has grown spiritually and wiser. She is less abrasive and not so quick to make decisions without thought or research. I am watching her change before my eyes over this time and I could not be filled with more love deeper than what I am now.  She is in her early forties and has two growing kiddos and a husband at home.  400 plus days ago,  i n the past life, she was one of those ...  click t...

Discovery of a new birth . . .

© +Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2019 Mare and Foal   Oil on Cradled Birch 9 x 12  by Laurie Pace  Purchase here.   $375 Visit Ellepace.com to see available artwork.   “It was a sense of privilege and mute wonder, as though he’d witnessed one of those small, everyday miracles of spring. Like a licked-clean foal taking its first steps on wobbly legs. Or a new butterfly pushing scrunched, damp wings from a chrysalis.” Tesse Dare - A Week to be Wicked The discovery in this painting was exhilarating. It started much differently with a single horse and very subtle colors and suddenly I saw these two in the paint. They appeared in shape and form. We often never see the best things God places in front of us.  This horse and foal painting is waiting for you.  “ Then the Lord passed in front of him and proclaimed:Yahweh—Yahweh is a compassionate and gracious God, slo...

At the Easel Today! Painting with Laurie Pace

© +Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2019 At the Easel Today  Don't forget to visit my website for new available work! Ellepace.com “I wish I had the talent to paint the way I feel about you, for my words always feel inadequate. I imagine using red for your passion and pale blue for your kindness; forest green to reflect the depth of your empathy and bright yellow for your unflagging optimism. And still I wonder: can even an artist’s palette capture the full range of what you mean to me?”  Nicholas Sparks As I head to the easel this morning, I decided to post early on my blog and not at nine pm at night!  Back in 2006 when I started blogging, I did it faithfully every morning. Seven days a week.  I was painting one painting every day except on Sunday and I had things to share. While part of me wants to do small paintings every day, without Daily Painters, I would be challenged ...
