'Four Black Horses' Music Varnish Overlay Series Contemporary Horse Equine Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Four Black Horses' 9 x 12 inches  Oil on Canvas SOLD COMMISSION Piece for Michael Dutka in honor of his newly written Opera, Four Black Horses. Contact me for commission paintings. Laurie © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2009 The Painting:   This was created just for Michael in celebration of his newest opera. It is done with my Music Series. It is a wonderful story about four black horses.  One day I will share more about it in a few months, so stay tuned.  On the background is the score from his new Opera performed I believe recently in Delaware.  I was the blessed artist to receive a CD of the opera and a DVD of the performance. Here is the review: Michael Dutka’s opera Black Horses and The Stronger were commissioned by OperaDelaware, and performed at Saints Andrew and Matthew Episcopal Church. A winning array of singers handled Dutka’s daunting scores with ease. In Black Horses, soprano Elizabeth Zell sang beautifully and clearly the libre

Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2009 The Painting : Not sure what the feeling was as I sketched this one out and then the horse became blue...It was not out of sadness, more out of peace... like you would be in meditation as the day begins. As always thick paint adorns the surface in my signature style. The Thought :  I knew a few months ago a reporter phoned me about my artwork saying she was writing an article for Cowboys and Indians. We visited on and off for a week and I sent images to her.  Well last night I was speaking with a collector from Wimberly Texas and she mentioned seeing my work in the newest edition of C&I.  Mind you it was already 9 pm...but I started up my little diesel  Passat  (She was not hap

While you are talking with Him and praying, put it all out there for Him. When y

The Painting: This was started last week and finished this week .  Softness of white and tan countered with golds, Indian wheat, violet blues and periwinkle... all layered in this angelic composition. The Thought:   Well, Terry and I have continued with the puzzle .  He made the comment that he felt stupid at times sitting there twenty minutes with a puzzle piece in hand and it slips simply into a spot where he has been staring at.  The answer was there all the time... he was just looking to hard.   I have decided it has be done in the next two weeks so I can put it up for us to have Christmas eve
Ready to Travel Contemporary Art Mixed Medium Horse Daily Painting by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD Thank you! Contact me to purchase: Laurie Yes, I know I am late posting. But below is yesterday's painting finished!! And above the one I was working on this morning that is almost finished. Yesterday Terry finished up sheet rock in our bedroom where last March the electrician had blasted through to rewire the house. It has been a long time coming to get that completed. Still needs one more coat of paint, but last night he and I worked dusting and cleaning the bedroom so we could fall into bed! Still need to clean the fan AND the upper deck/loft is FULL of dust from sanding. Next will be the other ten places that need to be finished up! Morgan was over yesterday too, and he hung lights in the garden room for the holidays. I may leave them up as they are white lights and very pretty how he did them. I attempted to take pictures but my camera can't quite capture them at night and when
THE JOURNEY Contemporary Art Daily Painting Horse Art by Laurie Justus Pace 10 x 10 In process...not yet finished but close. Contact me if you are interested: Laurie ONLY a quick blog as we are heading out to the Barber Shop and then Lowes and then home to work. Did not make lunch yesterday as Annie, the older Kerrie Blue, decided she was ready for an outing and outed out of the backyard. It took us two hours of searching to find her and then 20 min to catch her. We were both worn out by that time and in no mood to eat lunch as our breakfast was still bouncing around in our stomachs! Closing out. That is my message this morning. Do you close people, places or things out of your life? Do you avoid things on purpose and not get involved? Sometimes we do this out of anxiety or fear that we do not fit in or we are not good enough. We justify it in our minds with other thoughts like "I just don't have time." or "I will try it next week." or "I don'
