Laurie     © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 The Painting: I am working more intensely with color and my palette knife.  I can just hear God chuckle as He must have used that technique many times in the creation. The Thought:     Hog... thats a different lead in for me.  HOG.  We had hog for breakfast.  I am leary about it as I don't really like or eat PORK at all. I was at the easel early this morning working away and Terry came with a plate of eggs and stuck a bite in my mouth... sausage.  Something else I eat very little of... sausage. I don't want to say yuck, but I still feel funny in my mouth and tummy. I can handle it mixed into speg or Lasagna, or even in chili. I knew where it came from.  Leah stayed with the Fletchers after school on Monday and they had shot a pig (wild hog) down on their bottom lands. Lea

'Horse Four' Equine abstract Art Horse Oil Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Horse Four' 30 x 30  Oil on Canvas Private Collection Contact me for Commission Work. Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 The Painting:  From my archives... As we are in the midst of packing and moving you will have some paintings of old.  The Thought: I am late blogging this morning due to exhaustion.  We were busy yesterday helping Justin and Tara with their move to their new home south of Arlington.  They have a beautiful new house to fill with their love and dreams and we were happy to be apart of that start up you might say.  We literally didn't eat all day yesterday until seven thirty last night; I don't want to do that again. By this late in the morning sleeping in, I almost feel more tired than if I was up early doing.  I will probably feel 'behind' all day.  Even though this Blog will go up two hours late hopefully that does not mean my day will run two hours late all day.  I will miss every appointment I have

'Color of Two Painted Ponies' Equine Horse Abstract Oil Daily Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Justus Pace

'Color of Two Painted Ponies' 24 x 30  Oil on Canvas   Private Collection Contact me for commission work Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 The Painting: I began layer on this last week.  I saw flowers in pots and ladies dancing, but most of my buyers look for my equine art...so last night I began working to find the painted ponies... voila here they are.  I truly enjoy the movement of colors in this new signature style and so far it has been exceedingly popular. The Thought : Movement. When I think of motion and movement I instantly think of the world around me.   When you live in the city of Dallas, there is CONSTANT movement of people, cars, airplanes, dogs, cats, birds, etc.  There is absolutely never a quiet still moment. In the city it cannot be.  In the country you face less people induced noise, but definitely nature at her loudest... birds, crickets, wolves, dogs, water and stillness. I believe the loudest movement is in the pure still

'Running in the Snow' 5 x 7  Oil on Paper SOLD before I cleaned my brushes! Thank you. Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2009 The Painting : This is a small study pull for a larger painting . It truly sold before I cleaned up paint up.  I often do these when I am working with new colors and want to see how it lays out.  This is a small piece on watercolor paper with Holbein Duo Oils.  Stunning in contrast with the blues and caramels.  Watch for the big one. The Though t:  I hate to say SHORT, but it is. I am busy preparing some really neat things for small gifts this year.   Affording art I guess you would say...but only because of friends pressuring me because they wanted them.  We will see if the hard work pays off, mean while I am finding myself NOT PREPARED to get it done by tonight. This day looms very very very intense and busy. I have been working for two hours already at 7:15 and realize I w

'Autumn Winds' Modern Equine Art Horse Daily Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Autumn Winds' 30 x 30  Acryilc on Canvas Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2009 The Painting :  Delicious.  It was delicious painting with an orange sherbet color.  But gee, look outside and see all the golden leaves tinted with this orange sherbet color and you can't help but want to paint it.  THICK paint adorns this canvas as you can tell by the ridges of paint piling on edge as I pulled the colors. The Thought : Have you ever had to pick up the phone and dial for tech support on your computer?    I added Snow Leopard to my Mac. Somehow the morning after adding Snow Leopard, several of my itune folders were empty of favorite songs, like Josh Radin and Ellis Paul etc.  I was painting in acrylic at the time I discovered this so I had to wash the brush and give up on the painting to call Tech Support. I simply cannot function in the studio with out my music. Well, I didn't really think about t
