The Painting : Crisp colors of fall in this contrasting of hues red and green. These were honey crisp apples I bought at Whole Foods last week and as they were drying from washing I snapped pictures on my green kitchen towel. Had to paint them. Gotta love it. The Thought : More Wii today... much better as I didn't work out by 35 minutes. I do not feel as drained.  I can honestly say I am tighter all over from the yoga and aerobics. I am determined to try and do this at least five times a week added to my huge daily list...but I worry when I start humming the tune of the step song from the Wii.  Daughter says I am doing it too much. She has me working on my MYSPACE.  Yes I h...
Early Spring Pears Contemporary Art Pears Fruit Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 inches of THICK Palette Knife Oil Painting SOLD "I will perpetuate your memory through all generations; therefore the nations will praise you for ever and ever." Psalm 45:17 Yesterday Uncle John worked all day prepping walls in my studio. I have been out painting in the garden room discovering that painting while standing on concrete is NOT my favorite thing. Today he will return and begin putting the color on the walls. It is a simple light grey tone that is in the house everywhere else but our room and one bathroom. Most of his architecture was designed around nature and the home fitting into the environment. In all my other homes I have splashed color everywhere. Color is contemporary, but this home is a healing calm home. I need to ...

Terry left but his face was really green. We went out and ate for Justin's birthday last night and Justin, Terry and Morgan all ate VEAL CHOPS. Personally I do not eat much beef. Especially when I do not know where it came from. I won't eat baby Cow at all. An occasional hamburger is okay and when there is steak, I eat about six bites but that is it. SOOO, my man did not have a restful night and I hope he does better today. I did not have to fix breakfast or pack his lunch. Today Mark Bryant is flying in for my show tonight at the Dutch Art Gallery. I think it is meet the artist from six to nine. He wants to see a collection of work and watch me paint for a day. I like gallery owners that take an interest in your work and your life. He is just getting his gallery up and going i...
PEARING UP by Laurie Justus Pace 20 x 40 inches Oil on Canvas SOLD Commissioned Contact me for other work: Laurie It is early Sunday. Mom is sleeping gently in the other room and I will tiptoe to paint this morning, no music, no news, just me and the colors pushing on canvas. Sometimes I enjoy quiet paints! I worry about the phones though. Brothers all started calling at seven thirty yesterday and my phones going off in succession is enough to wake anyone. I am reloading my book cover for the new book for hopefully the last time. I used EXACTLY the same cover we used for printing last time and it rejected it...go figure. Well, the words rejected it but I think they used it anyway. I have redone it again for the 8th time and am reloading it. Do you think God gets tired of reloading us? We all seem to have trouble seeing the real world we live in. Last night we watched "THE BUCKET LIST". Mom chuckled as we did through several scenes, but the ones that pulled your heart ...
