I have been in the studio working this morning and taking photos of a new Painting. The one above is Pony Up from 2012 when we lived at the Lake. I miss that studio with six large windows opening across the back of the house where I painted on a closed in porch looking toward the west but looking over the water. It was a dream come true!!! We were in our late fifties then. Not sure it would work as well scooting back out there in our early 70's.    I AM JUST EXCITED right now to be working on a large 30 x 40 inch painting. This painting "Under Texas Stars" is one I totally forgot about having the deep blue backgrounds.  I painted this in 2014 and it sold immediately after I placed it on my website.  Texas is a wide open state with a few glitches called Dallas, Ft Worth, Austin, San Antonio, Houston etc.  Those big cities are so bright they often outshine the stars where it is nothing but city lights.  The night sky in Texas is incredible. This was a work out over two weeks in the studio.  I put up video on FB and Instagram. Cannot figure out how to do it here!  I think it has to be embedded.  It began with soft acrylics to cover the surface...and then a sketch by hand of three horses. Being brave, I began painting in Acrylics but found the painting feeling disconnected or dull.  I whipped out the paints on Sunday  and finished it!  Now I am smiling when I look at the three... the front two take the message....  the middle horse has pulled up tilting his head to the horse on his left (your right) and his eye looking wildly at the red horse.  The third horse is not important other than ma...
