" Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. " Heb 12:1-2    The Holy Bible: English Standard Version (Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles, 2016) Our Race? When you race , there are usually spectators, and for our race in life, and for what is wri

I love this painting. It was done in January of 2010. Looking back through at some favorites inspires me before I paint today.  I am starting a paint it forward piece for someone that needs inspiration and light and color in their lives right now. My art is a gift from God and it is a privilege to use it to lift up hope and love.    The Race is On I remember these days in my second most favorite studio, the one before the lake. We had purchased a 1955 home built by an architect that studied under Frank Lloyd Wright.  400 sq feet... in a house I could have lived in my whole life and loved. Curved walls, open space soaring ceilings... even the master bedroom had a spiral stair that went up to a library area.  The things coming out of my studio then were amazing... well s

When I chose the painting for my blog today , I wanted my verse from my Bible to reflect the journey of taking a trip. Everyone reacts differently to travel. If you are like me... you don't get nervous until the day of the trip. but once I begin the journey, I find a peace and calmness. This verse refers to the speaker or writer as being old and not young.  I am definitely closer to the old over the young and this speaks to and from my heart to you.  Every day is a journey in your life and you know not what is ahead.  " The Lord makes firm the steps  the one who delights in him;  though he may stumble, he will not fall,  for the Lord upholds him with his hand.  I was young

This painting was a journey that started about five or six weeks ago. I have shared some on this blog, but not all!  It is finished. Starting a new painting today with too many ideas floating in my head!   I am known for my Painted Pony Pulls but only have done maybe four in the past five years. There are NO others like it that I know of. Thick rich buttery Holbein Oils and NO impasto to thicken them. The are deep and rich! Yesterday and now Today The church bulletin yesterday..."There are very few REAL emergencies."  and "If you are lucky, you are currently between emergencies." Well, it caught my attention. With our current administration allowing a spy balloon to sit over our nuclear base in Montana and not do anything?  I guess it is an

Click on the painting or the Title of the painting. I did the first portions of this live on Instagram.  It is almost ready to ship out with a pre-glaze on it.   It is already late on Thursday night and I am not sure where the day went. Our two granddaughters came to spend the day.  It was full of school work first, and then time in the backyard in the sun helping their Bampa rake leaves from our nine trees out back!  I am trying to figure out how to shop for Christmas.  Still need to buy gifts for two of the grandsons... we are not doing gifts for the adults this year. We will be celebrating quietly apart again. Just like Thanksgiving.

If you have not read it, it was about a young peasant girl that was adopted and in her life she was very vain. She had an old pair of red shoes as a foster child that she loved so much, she had her new foster mother buy her a new pair of red shoes. They were elegant and fit for a princess. Sadly the young girl was so attached to them she would not take them off.  Along the way to church one day a mysterious older man, a soldier with a red beard
