Here in the studio... it is a might be slower than it was in 2022. In most of 2023, I was between home and Dallas with my Mom and most of you know she passed late last year.  We never know what the day will bring as it unfolds. This morning in my reading...  Ephesians 1:7 " In whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace." And from my Daily Streams " There is no way of learning faith except by trial. It is God’s school of faith, and it is far better for us to learn to trust God than to enjoy life." The Light Within, is one of my painted pony pulls and I rarely do them.  But I did do this one today!   There is a tale of the Painted Ponies from Golden Pond Studio aka Elle Pace Studio. Back in 2006 a nude was turned into a field of ponies coming straight at you. That is when the story began of those painted pony pulls. There is only one available in large size and it is posted on my website but is at Mirada Fine Art. This is a small one. Left over paint which led to adding more paint and presto over the afternoon hours, The Light Within was born. This is the most collected of all my styles. This was a work out over two weeks in the studio.  I put up video on FB and Instagram. Cannot figure out how to do it here!  I think it has to be embedded.  It began with soft acrylics to cover the surface...and then a sketch by hand of three horses. Being brave, I began painting in Acrylics but found the painting feeling disconnected or dull.  I whipped out the paints on Sunday  and finished it!  Now I am smiling when I look at the three... the front two take the message....  the middle horse has pulled up tilting his head to the horse on his left (your right) and his eye looking wildly at the red horse.  The third horse is not important other than making the presence of three horses.   Much to Consider Our times are flying past and many of you do

Often when I am painting, I will do two things...  The first is to reverse the photo from left to right. There I can see all issues with balance or color.  We are all one eye dominate and that controls how we see things!  You can put a photo or painting in front of the mirror or use your iphone and then edit and flip it.   See below. Values are a bit harder...  Taking a photo or painting into black and white with gradients allows you to see the values and balance of a piece of work. Values are lights and darks. Can you see them? I knew something was wrong tonight when I got in the shower and I was too tired to sing. We have been involved the past three or more months with a dear family member that took a fall and things have progressed with many changes in their life and in all of ours.  Painting has not come to a full stop, just slowed down, and I promise to share this next week what I have been working on.  Why Roses in a photo?  These are roses from. my youngest son two years ago for Mother's Day. Deep red roses filled our home with a sweet fragrance.  What does this have to do with singing in the shower?  I love to sing... when I am happy, when I am sad, when I am scared...but not so much when I am tired!   First choice are all the old hymns I grew up with
