She is a fellow artist with me and she also gives us a quick haircut with the visit. She is talented.  I will be working on her website and share some of her work as I do that this next few weeks.  The cold front moved in early yesterday plunging us in the high twenties last night with a freeze and today it was still cold.   We had a great time today with one of our grandsons and took him and friend to eat Pizza in Solana at our favorite Italian place and then to the infamous Ice Cream and Candy s...

" “The purest and most thoughtful minds are those which love color the most.”  ― John Ruskin, The Stones of Venice It is pretty obvious by my work that I love color. I have an addiction to color. That addiction means when I walk into a store with clothes... I only see color... not the actual dress, or shirt, or coat. It really is detrimental to my budget. I am successfully working on this shopping addiction to color. When the closet has six black sweaters, four green ones, four white ones, two grey ones, one red one, one orange one, one rose colored one and two navy blue ones... uh oh....and you see it happening with tops and sweats too.   QUESTION: What do you think happens when I walk...

I have learned to wait and if it seems good today and tomorrow and maybe in a few weeks... then act on it!  I am exploring both in painting and in writing thinking more abstractly I would say.   Blast of Blue was a good lead for me to test skills and it will take a few more like this.  I need to be even more basic.  Will try another direction tomorrow with a cradled Panel.  Thinking these will all be $199 right now as I experiment and take this journey. You will be right here next to me as we go. I know what the knife does... I want to try more things as I go. Abduction is a good word. Don't think of it's first meaning, look at its s...

And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says, "Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.”  ― Louis Carroll - Alice In Wonderland  Nothing is more chilling that the rawness of winter.  Winter is here in full force.  We are almost to Feb and the memories of Feb last year are crashing in around us.  A close family member was hospitalized, an aunt died at 94 and Covid arrived... with a shut down March 2nd.   The rawness is still with us. The Covid is still with us. The "WINTER" is still here forcing us into isolation and madness.  Meanwhile I...

He Brought Me Roses, Contemporary Rose Palette Knife Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

I decided to warm up with my knife and did a floral, which I have not done in quite awhile. I decided this because one of my collectors that bought two horse paintings last month loves my flowers the best and wondered why I was not painting them...  This is a huge close up...(click it)  so you have a textured feel of the canvas.  Contact me if you are interested in purchasing this painting.
