Longhorn Land 30 x 40 inches of lush Palette knife Longhorn Painting by Laurie Pace SOLD at the Dutch Art Gallery 1.12.2012 ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2012  Contact me for your own commissioned painting: Laurie      Settling In. Why is it so hard for us to let go and settle in somewhere? Comfort is the couch or easy chair with a blanket to tuck around you in this cold weather. The next comfort is the heated mattress pad our daughter bought us a few years ago. Makes going to bed PURE comfort.  What is comfort? Comfort speaks to the ease of the Spirit, to enjoy resting in the arms of God, feeling His warm surrounding you; feeling His peace fill you. Feel Him in silent moments. Feel Him in the midst of chaos. He is there surrounding you through all times...not just those snuggly lets get close times.  Learn to release your fears and drop all those rocks you carry around.  Reharge by His closeness. Be renewed through His Sp

Contemporary Flower Oil Calla Lily Painting by Laurie Pace

"Green and White Calla Lilies" 16 x 20 inches Oil on Canvas Palette knife Contact me to purchase: Laurie © Laurie Justus Pace Graphics One Design 2009 " For I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the LORD your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess. " Deuteronomy 30:16 The Painting : Cool colors and a thick paint applied with a palette knife. The subtle softness of the petal of this flower was captured through the thick application of paint pulls giving it a truly dimensional effect. The Thought: One of our neighbors handed Terry a "copy" of an article from a published program from the TOUR OF HOMES in 1960 here in Dallas. There was our little home in it. What amazes me is our "dining room" is really suppose to be a den. The only dining area in the house is what most of us would term the Breakfast area. It i
NIGHT FALL Contemporary Art Seascape Palette Knife Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches Oil on Canvas Contact me for additional information or to purchase. Laurie Yesterday I hit Lowe's for some new colors in the garden room. I am waiting for help from Morgan to put up new twinkle lights in there and slowly over the next few weeks I will begin decorating that room for the holidays. I wanted to get a large little decorative pine tree but I was in my Passat and it just wouldn't fit with all the other flowers. There is something rejuvenating about playing in dirt and re potting things to give them grow room. God's grace is abundant in our lives. Share yourself with someone today. Give with out someone knowing you gave. Work behind the scenes as God does in our lives. God continues on a daily basis to grace us all with His unconditional love and acceptance. Do you grace this to all those that cross your path? Grace is every gentle yet ever powerful in it enfol
THROUGH THE LEAVES Contemporary Art Abstract Horse Palette Knife Painting By Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 36 x 2 inches of Dynamic Fall Colors! Contact me to Purchase: Laurie It almost feels like Summer is still here. The highs are in the mid to high eighties. At least the nights cool off. I am way overdo waiting for winter to be here. I will have another warm birthday this year and that is weird to have it so warm outside in November for so long. I used a different color palette on the painting I posted today. I am stepping out of the box a bit with it. Those of you that have my horses, let me know what you think. I have been sad lately after the trip to Bonham to see Dad. I feel like someone let all the air out of my tire. It is unusual for me to be down as I am usually more on the up side. What does one do when they are in this position? My dad would say, just fake it. My grandmother was told me happiness would elude me if I looked for it...it was something that crept into your l
BROWN EYES Contemporary Art Palette Knife Oil Horse Painting by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD Contact me to purchase: Laurie This is why it is called BROWN EYES Yesterday I wrote about climbing to God. Terry and I were watching the news and a commercial came on showing a rock/mountain climber dangling off a rock edge precipice. You watched him carefully place his feet in certain spots on the underside of the rock and glancing up and around making decisions on safe footing as he went. He stood up at the top and raised his arms in celebration of I HAVE ARRIVED! It was a commercial to get Laser surgeries for your eyes. First we aspire to climb to higher places and accomplish more. What do we do when we get this far? Once you taste conquering and being at the top of something, or succeeding in that GREAT GOAL, where do you go next? My dad would probably say, "On to your next mountain to climb." If you think about it, to climb that next mountain I have to get down from the firs

He is thinking more about retirement daily as we make it through these winter months. I was waiting for him in the office waiting area this morning and a group of AA hanger managers and trainees were there conversing. One was re
FROM THE WEST revisited Palette Knife Contemporary Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 22 x 28 inches Contact me if you are interested in this painting! I do accept payments. Laurie Repainting, Rebuilding, recapturing. I repainted this one to bring out more color. This happens when things hang around the studio. In life I think we should constantly be growing changing and building. Sometimes we have to back up and rebuild. I am not sure how to explain where my brain is today, but I can almost feel it. Be it things in your life you have neglected or ignored, or people that you have neglected or ignored...now is the time to repair and rebuild a stronger situation or better relationship. When I have a painting that has so much potential and it hangs around here and I continue to see it, suddenly one day I know what has to be done and I begin repainting. So today look around you and see what needs to be taken on that needs repair, things, places, people, relationships etc.
REBOUND Study 1 Palette Knife Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 36 inches SOLD ALREADY! THANKS! 1/2-3/4 inch thick paint from Buttery pulls of Oil! The night sky still shrouds the earth in the early cool of the morning. It is not quite six o'clock. One would think the city remained asleep but it never went to sleep. That is one of the things I dislike about living in town....There is a time to rest and from my earlier life I remember Blue Laws that kept stores closed on Sunday. Our lives have become stressed only because we allow them to be this way. Our lives go 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks in a year for how ever many years God grants us on this earth. I believe we all need more rest. Rest in Him. Since the creation of Adam and Eve, man has had this built in need to challenge God, challenge life and do it our way. Often our actions are in direct disobedience to God's word We have failed to recognize before us the tremendous benefits and blessings t
DUCKS Palette Knife Painting DUCKS Oil by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD from the RED TREE GALLERY in Atascadero CA. Laurie Today is a good day to approach procrastination. I am sure none of you have that issue in your life. From the child that delays telling you they have homework so they can play longer over the weekend, to the husband that seems to magically forget there is a repair job to something in the house, and all the way back to you that thinks, "I can try meditating and praying tomorrow when I have more time, today is so full of things that must be done first." Tomorrow may never come and the putting off thing until "tomorrow" makes tomorrow into a thief that keeps things from happening. God calls each of us every day to do things for him and every day most of us put him off. There are verses in Luke which explicitly show all types of excuses from our business or work, our financial responsibilities and our family responsibilities that come to the front whe
GLORY Horse Oil Palette Knife Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 24 x 2 inches of very thick paint. SOLD! Oct 16, 2008 Contact me to purchase and mention the title of the painting: Laurie It is only six thirty this morning. Terry is still sleeping soundly and I am up to blog. At least we did sleep last night sort of...they had a king room but the location was by that noisy ice machine that kept us awake the last time we stayed here. This is a huge resort. Problem this weekend which we did not anticipate because of Texas OU weekend, is there are four wedding parties here. This resort is packed. They found us a quiet room on the seventh floor, water front view, very nice, but only two double beds. not even queen. I think it is like the second side of a suite or something. So we started out on two beds, and of course after all these years of marriage, that didn't work. So we crammed together on one bed. I had the smaller side. The opening at Patina last night was wonderful.

MORNING BLAZE Abstract Oil Palette Knife Painting Horse ART by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches Contact me to purchase: Laurie Only a quick thought this morning and I know it is late. Just returned from delivering Morgan back to his apartment. We had to get his stitches out of his head this morning. Terry and I just arrived back home and face massive boxing for the afternoon. The house is quiet and our visitors are all gone. Then preparations for the Show that opens in Marble Falls on Friday evening. It has been raining since five this morning and it is really something we needed here in the area. God is good in His wisdom and He always provides. May your day be filled with joy. It is there waiting to be found, waiting for that smile to crack across your face, and the full release of breath from your tense body. Grace, Laurie “Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD, is the Rock eternal.” Isaiah 26:4
