Missing in Action . Return to Artist if Seen . Last Seen Santa Fe Gallery Somewhere in the homes lining the streets of Santa Fe is this missing painting.  Not sure to label it "Missing in Action", "Stolen", "Lost and not Found" or "Return to Artist".    There is never enough time to prepare for some changes and our reactions to the change. Can you prepare for change? Can you brace for bad news? Should you brace for bad news? I am one of those people when asked, "Do y

The mouse is through the door.  Where's the dog?  Who threw up on the carpet? Who left the door open?   PLEASE let the squirrels out! Every day around us things happen.  When life is chaotic things really seem to rub you the wrong way and somehow you think you will feel better if it can be blamed on someone else but not you. Take Responsibility? Who me? Red Roses in a Bowl  reminded me of the special gift vase my mom buys every newlywed couple. It is a vase that she says the husband must fill with flowers to say I am sorry.  That is ho

After the second hour on the phone, keeping a calm voice and maintaining my joy, I finally was told they would credit our bill a whomping $40 and upgrade our internet to the fast H45.  I laughed and said, sweet dreams on that one. We cannot even stay connected now at the normal fast speed.  So if y

The entire scripture was part of our morning study. As I read the passage I immediately felt the power of God in his creation of the world.  Commanding and direct, descriptive and complete; the power of the Lord, the power used in creating the world and man.  Yes, in Proverbs, not Genesis.  An artist reaches deep to put together ideas, sketches, palette color choices, and much more. Each painting has immeasurable 'ingredients' and depth that may not be visually ap

I must go.  Sometimes the color is calling and I must paint.  Must have been a dual thought the morning I began this one. Always experimenting with the knife, thinking of palettes that would bring the best in subjects alive...and out of it came this red forest. I do not know why I did not name it "The Red Forest."  I am not at all convinced it is fall in this painting but more like a brilliant sun rising.   Reposting these old pieces makes me even more eager to return to my studio. I am still waiting for the renovations to f

Morris West Wasted moments total up every day of our lives. Moments that we spend in worry, planning, devising, rearranging...doing everything but living the moment we have right then.   We have to plan and be wise about tomorrow but we do not have to over do it. Sunflowers always remind me of sunshine. In the summer of 2006 and 2007, I did a series of Sunflower paintings from photos I took on differe

Nothing stays the same. Spending time with God is the same way as time spent at the arboretum. Nothing has to stay the same. You are changing every moment and God is there with you.  There is no time or place you have to do it the same every day. There is not really a pr
