Lady L in Progress, Child Portrait by A Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Lady L in Progress... This is in progress to be done by Christmas Day. You may see an updated version after the holidays...but I started this at the demonstration painting at the Dutch Art Gallery on the 17th of December. I still have some value shading to adjust a bit darker on her face and then it will be done. SOLD 5 x 7 Oil on Canvas    ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011   Contact me for your own commissioned painting: Laurie       Excited Angels Around Us. At this time of year you can often just look around and visible see those little Angels. These two caught my eye and I took a series of images as their faces changed with the cold wind blowing them about on the float they were in for the Mount Vernon Christmas Parade. Can you even begin to imagine how the real Angels were twittering about in joyful love and expectation waiting as Mary and Joseph rode into Bethlehem?   They...

Child Portrait by A Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Second Birthday 2011 Lady L 5 x 7 inches Oil on Canvas       ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011 Contact me for your own painting: Laurie       Threads of Family Too many memories to sort them all. Families are a basic weave of lives with different personalities. The fabric that comes from the weave is either strong with evenly spaced threads that are carefully threaded through evenly pulled and spaced.  Loosely woven threads create a weaker fabric. You never know with family. You don't choose them. You choose your friends but not your family. God seems to match us together ahead of time. It is how we interact and respond to each other that determines the weave in our family. We make those choices, not God.  Tomorrow would have been the 16th birthday of our Grandson Grant.  God took Grant from us about five years ago. As a special needs autistic child, he brought so much love to...
KRYSTA Contemporary Art Daily Painting Portrait of a Child by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas COMMISSION SOLD Contact me to paint someone special in your life: Laurie I was searching through pictures for my new book that I am compiling similar to this blog and came across "Krysta". She was one of my art students for 6 years and as she grew I used her often as a model. I think you can see why. She had those eyes that just held the world. This was painted four years ago but I wanted to share it! This is the type painting I LOVE doing but it takes weeks to finish one like this. When doing a painting for someone I pride myself in the personal touch department. PTD. It would be great if we taught PTD in the classroom. PTD would be responsible for teaching our children to do acts of kindness with a personal touch. Helping an elderly lady with her bags of groceries; walking the neighbor's dog; throwing your neighbor's newspaper up by their front do...
Making Music Contemporary Art Portrait by Laurie Justus Pace 20 x 20 inches Oil on Canvas COMMISSION SOLD Monday dawns with rain. I was actually up at four hustling the dogs outside. Our oldest dog has fear of storms and she makes messes everywhere, so the only way around that is to get her out to do her duty and then drug her. The drugs do not do much but I am hoping they are taking the edge off for her. But back to bed and here I am at 8:30 still in my pjs blogging. The storms outside remind of God's strength. We often opt not to rely on this comfort knowing He will protect and see us through anything in our lives. So as I have rain and winds today I will sit back and enjoy the fury of the storms and know He is at work. At work outside and at work in my life and yours. Grace, Laurie “God's voice thunders in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our understanding. He says to the snow, 'Fall on the earth,' and to the rain shower, 'Be a mighty downpour.” Jo...
TINK Child Portrait in Oil by Laurie Justus Pace 9 x 12 inches Contact me for Commission Work: Laurie It is not quite done, but close enough to post. She is out of my thoughts in anticipation of the upcoming grandchild. Hence she comes armed with crayons. Her name is Tink right now, but we truly do not know the sex of the baby coming. I may have to think boy next time. We have been calling the baby TINK so we have a name for praying about and talking to. Tink is short for TINKERBELL if it is a girl, and sTinker if it is a boy. We will have to wait on the Lord to reveal what this tiny one is! Waiting is not always the easiest thing in the world. Can you name anyone you know that is NOT waiting for something to happen in their lives? OR can you name anyone that LIKES to wait on something? I guess this too is part of our trait as a human. Whether it be waiting on traffic to clear so you can arrive at a destination on time, or waiting for your child to hurry out of school to be pi...
