I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.” Marilyn Monroe One of my painted ponies... miss painting these pieces.  New things coming. Spring is here in full force and God reminds me of it all around.  I have been working with artists on websites and of course urge them to use the Squarespace platform.  It is an incredible journey with your website and marketing and selling your work.  I love watching

You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about.” ― Haruki Murakami This is the horse still moving through the storm. He is represented by the dark blues reflecting the darkness of the sky, wind and rain surrounding him. His white mane whips in the wind but the strength of his body and legs propels him forward after the other horses

When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.” ― Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist So I finished up this painting and hoping it dries for shipping in the next three weeks.  Our weather is so unpredictable.   We have actually had a bit of winter this past week. We had seventies on Tuesday and then a front came through bringing us back in the fifties during the day. Something special about having seasons. My body really likes them! I love fall, winter and spring. I am not

And then at some point late, late, late at night, say just a bit before dawn, the heat finally breaks and the night turns into cool and when you briefly wake up, you notice that you're almost chilly, and in your groggy, half-consciousness, you reach over and pull the sheet around you and jus

Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan Press On! has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.” ― Calvin Coolidge I love the quote today. I had to reread it a few times to have it settle in.  Persistence and determination ... the key to what?  How do you win this

This painting was done back in 2007.  I actually love all the colors and the strength of the presence of the horse.  It is in a private collection.  When I come across these older pieces I am often inspired to try something similar.  Have to see where that goes today! A new challenge, a new mountain to climb... are you on your way? I hope you are climbing a new mountain to take on a new view in life

Tolkien, The Hobbit Well I do like it this way!  A bit risky but more of what I am enjoying but still not where I want to wander entirely.  I love the light of the moon and the highlights in the piece. I love the ebb and flow of the paint and feel the strength in the painting itself.  It came a journey and I had to let go of the foundation sketch and let the paint go where it wanted to go. 1 Chronicles 28:20 "David also said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous, and do th

We Have the Power Contemporary Horse Paintings by Laurie Pace, A Texas Artist

And maybe we'll never know most of them. But even if we don't have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there. We can still do things. And we can try to feel okay about them.” ― Stephen Chbosky, The Perks of Being a Wallflower A hit from the past and a favorite at that. The Power of Three was a triptych I did years ago.  Think it is on the east Coast with a collector up there who has three of my pieces... on top of these three in a row. I love this quote... we always
