While I hate disrupting the growth and the blooms, it is the right thing to do.  At those times in life when we cannot see beyond our nose we lose sight of what can be.  Turning it over to the Lord and following the lead of Jesus encourages you to do your own 'pruning'.  We have to let go and walk away from things that we are comfortable with; things that appear to us to be perfect for our life. But truly are they? We soon realize the jewels that fill our 'crowns in our life" are only of this earth and not of heaven or of God. Taking off the "crown" we realize we are not the important person we thought we were. Perhaps we are nothing more

Well is was 116 degrees outside yesterday. How do you get energized to do anything? I started out early scrubbing our bathroom, cleaning out drawers and cabinets and washing rugs. I proceeded on to our bedroom to dust and sweep but I was wearing out fast.  Terry jumped in the fray and we cleaned all the leather furniture in the den and he did the floors while I dusted and did the glass. Today I will face the kitchen! I am not sure we were ever 'energized' but we had to do it. Including changing bedsheets and washing the mattress pad and both the winter and summer quilts. Normally I send them north to NY where I bought them and they launder them an

Return of the Wolf Pack SOLD last week at Rare Gallery Jackson Hole! 24 x 36 inches  Oil on Canvas    ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011    Contact me for your own commissioned painting: Laurie      THE PATH Some mornings when you wake up you have no idea where the day will be going.  This morning when I stumbled out of bed, Terry was already up.  He came back into the bedroom and announced we had to clean out the entire china cabinet and move it.  I admit I looked at him and wondered if I was dreaming, but I ask why and was told Paddy had decided it looked like a tree in the middle of the night. We have wood floors and we knew the liquid would be under as well as against the cabinet.  After I showered we got busy... or I should say he did. Bless him as he removed EVERYTHING; His Grandmother's China, all of our crystal, our Christmas Crystal and serving dishes, our special collectible from the last two centuries.  He was even going to wash it all before he p

BIg Wolf Wildlife Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Justus Pace

Big Wolf 30 x 40 inches  Oil on Canvas  Available: Laurie         ©Laurie Pace   Graphics One Design 1998-2011 He Follows You I finished up this wolf painting yesterday and enjoyed the results of my labor. Terry complained that the eyes of the wolf followed him around the room. The best part was when Paddy came in and lowered himself in a stance and began growling at it.  I knew I was done then.  Those brilliant eyes... they seem to capture you and follow you where ever you go. God follows you where ever you go as well.  His essence or spirit is within you, abiding within to empower you for God's good.  God knows what you will think before the thought even blooms in your head.  He knows what you need before you even realize it.  He does not really just follow you...rather He is leading you. You must be ready to follow Him. This weekend is the wine festival and Mayfair Art show here in Mt Vernon.  I am suppose to be in town but waiting to see how Terry is feeling.

Abstract Wolf Painting Wildlife Art by Texas Contemporary Artist Laurie Pace

Progression on Big Wolf 20 x 30 x 2 inches  Oil on Canvas   I was working late again last night on Big Wolf. This wolf painting definitely has a strong sense of wild and with the palette knife work it becomes dimensionally coming off the canvas.   As I finish it up, it will ship to The Rare Gallery in Jackson Hole for their summer season. ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011 Contact me for Commission Work. Laurie       Breath of God I am just in from sitting outside on the deck. I was up at six am awakened by the dogs stirring. Terry is still asleep. Ever since he cleaned up my studio on Sunday he has been hit hard with allergies from the dust and whatever else was out there. Sneezing and coughing.  I loaded him up with Benedryl last night as well as natural cough syrups, the same he used with his pneumonia last year.  Larry is down with bronchitis bordering pneumonia as well. His was from Lady L who had the croup. I sat outside on the swing this morning wrapped

When needs arose I stopped. I didn't panic, I didn't fret, I didn't allow any negativity to drive the day into a mess. I just stopped and paused and took a purposeful praye

I am compiling things for the workshop...bits and pieces of this and that, working in and out and up and down.  I am way excited about next week and preparing for it just builds more anticipation UP.  I have gathered tools, implements, spray bottles, extra canvas, palette knives, extra paints,

This applies to situations in life, to people around us and to many other things besides books.  Often what appears to be is truly what is not.  I am guilty of often seeing a stranger dressed a certain way or acting a certain way and immediately making  a judgment thought in my head.  Definitely not the Christian thing to do and it is not mine to judge or even come close to focusing on.   I am pretty good about not voicing things out loud, but God hears my every thought and I am guilty as charged.  That little inner voice always is quick to line me back up on the right thought road.  Concentrate on giving to others and doing for others. Take care of your own business first.   Remember when vi
