Sometimes I find myself running faster simply because life is pulling me in too many directions.

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 The Advantage Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Sometimes I find myself running faster simply because life is pulling me in too many directions. Romans 5 reminds us that suffering produces endurance, endurance produces character, and character produces hope. Looking at my painting The Advantage today made me think differently about the races we run. Perhaps the advantage isn't being faster or getting ahead. Perhaps it is learning when to slow down, trust God with the course, and run the race at the pace He has given us. Yesterday, my race included painting, piano, guitar, hymns—and finally simply being still enough to enjoy them. There is no perfect race. Run it at your pace. Trust God with the course.   Elle Read more at EllePace.com      To purchase a Print of this painting Click Here Laurie Pace, Elle Pace, The Advantage, The Races We Run in Our...

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Tiny Red Roses Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   The Flowers We Carry Some flowers bloom only for a season. Others bloom forever in our memories. As I painted tiny red roses today, I found myself back in my Nonnie's garden—chasing fireflies, choosing flowers for the breakfast table, and discovering that beauty is something to notice every day. Perhaps that is where an artist's heart begins. Life definitely has is own rhythm were we continue to grow and discover and see things differently.

"It is not about what was yesterday... or about tomorrow. It is truly about today." © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Red Poppies in Blue Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Looking at a painting from 2011 reminded me that every season of life has its own rhythm. As artists, we continue to grow, to see differently, and to discover new colors we might have missed years before. Under Texas Stars   © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Some of our sweetest memories begin with music. Long before I became a professional artist, a little transistor radio filled my upstairs bedroom while I painted on a drafting board that served as my first easel. Looking back, I realize music, friendships, faith, and art were already weaving together the threads of a life I could never have imagined. Yet it is all still there, beneath the surface, supporting every brushstroke or piece of our life ....

The book pages disappeared... © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Haunted Mesa Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   One thing struck me that I don't think I have put into words before. Book pages disappear. The viewer cannot read them anymore. But they still determine everything that comes afterward. Isn't that exactly how our lives work? The books we've read. The people we've loved. The grief we've carried. The faith we've learned. The roads we've traveled. Much of it can no longer be seen. Yet it is all still there, beneath the surface, supporting every brushstroke or piece of our life that follows. That realization makes this painting above feel even richer to me than it did before. It isn't just about a haunted mesa. It's about the hidden foundations we all carry—and how they quietly shape the beauty that eventually appears. Summer Daze with sun and fun ....

This morning I found an old photograph of Lady L standing at my easel... © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Lady L Wonder Keeps Us Young This morning I found an old photograph of Lady L standing at my easel, completely absorbed in painting at just three and a half years old. She had already begun seeing the world through an artist's eyes. Looking at her reminded me that children don't paint to impress anyone. They paint because they love to discover. Perhaps that's one of summer's greatest gifts. Wonder keeps us young. Gratitude keeps us at peace. Faith keeps us moving forward. Sometimes the greatest lessons come from slowing down long enough to see the world through the eyes of a child once again. "Unless you change and become like little children..." — Matthew 18:3 Read the full story on my website.   Elle Laurie Pace, Elle Pace, Threads of Grace, Wonder Keeps Us Young, Lady L, child artist, children painting, artist grandmothe...

Life Moving Forward through the Seasons

Red Moon Rising and the Seasons of Grace © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Red Moon Rising Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Several years ago, while living at the lake, I stood in my studio and watched the Red Moon rise across the water. I thought I was simply gathering inspiration for a painting. Looking back now, I believe God was quietly preparing my heart for seasons I had not yet imagined. Life moves through seasons. Childhood.  Marriage.  Family.   Career.   Loss. Healing.   Death.   Renewal. Some chapters are filled with celebration.  Others seem impossible to understand while we're living them.  Yet Scripture reminds us that God is faithful through every one of them. "The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps." — Proverbs 16:9 This past week something changed in my studio.   For the first time in a long while, I felt th...

Bubbles in the Air, Horses Everywhere

Tiny Bubbles Everywhere..... © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Tiny Bubbles Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Sometimes the paintings we almost paint become the ones that change everything. One summer, while my grandchildren were blowing bubbles across the backyard, I found myself painting a giant canvas filled with nothing but floating bubbles. I loved it. My galleries... not so much. They wanted horses. So, while the paint was still wet, I picked up my palette knife and let the painting lead the way. Those bubbles became horses. The painting sold within a week, but it also taught me something I've carried ever since: sometimes what feels like a detour is simply preparing us for the next chapter. Life has a way of doing that too. Read the full story and see the final horse painting on my website in the post.     Elle https://ellepace.com/blog-laurie-pace/bubbles-horses-726   Laurie Pac...
