What is your legacy? From the studio of Laurie Pace, Texas Contemporary Artist

No matter whether he is rich, provided he be independent. Regard the Honour and moral Character of the Man more than all other Circumstances. Think of no other Greatness but that of the soul, no other Riches but those of the Heart. An honest, Sensible humane Man, above all the Littlenesses of Vanity, and Extravagances of Imagination, labouring to do good rather than be rich, to be usefull rather than make a show, living in a modest Simplicity clearly within his Means and free from Debts or Obligations, is really the most respectable Man in Society, makes himself and all about him the most happy.” — JOHN ADAMS, LETTERS OF JOHN ADAMS, ADDRESSED TO HIS WIFE Legacies are truly important in our lives. From a young age we begin our memories with those older people in our lives.  How man

But they are there for a reason. Only when we have overcome them will we understand why they were there.” — PAULO COELHO, THE FIFTH MOUNTAIN Leaving the lake was not easy.  It was not about a better view or nature around us, but we wanted to be here and present for our grandchildren. With one next door, two only four blocks away and two more about 45 minutes away, we are here for a reason.  God is EVER present in our lives. We want to be present in their lives. We want to cheer them on and support them, to love them and watch them grow in God’s Spirit. Crossing in Faith by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

MILNE  One thing about being retired is not having to wake up so early and dash off to work or an appointment. Mornings are easier and a bit more relaxed…but the day ahead is completely out of my hands.  The depth of our heart is the center of our emotions and our will.  It actually determines much of our actions and desires.    Read More Here “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise” — EPHESIANS 5:15 Laurie Pace  -  A Texas Artist   INSTAGRAM  : @LauriePaceBlog Follow me on Facebook           Sign up for my monthly studio newsletter.      My Website          GALLERY LINKS Mirada Fine Ar

Before this bulb was planted, I knew what flower would bloom.... January Journal with Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2020 Visit Ellepace.com to see available artwork.   “It is hope-giving to consider the young, and it is also hope-giving to consider growth as a constant. Here I am at fifty-eight and in this past year I have only begun to understand what loving is … forced to my knees again and again like a gardener planting bulbs or weeding, so that I may once more bring a relationship to flower, keep it truly alive.” — MAY SARTON, JOURNAL OF A SOLITUDE It was a cold November when Terry and I planted bulbs for the late winter and early spring.  I am careful to lay out the packages with the bulbs as I direct the symphony of the planting by the time of emergence breaking the soil and blooming to perfection.  The tall ones in the back the short ones in the front and then of course the dates they will bloom syncing it all together.  READ MORE HERE . “You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. Snow Day, Our Snowy Path - Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© +Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2020 Visit Ellepace.com to see available artwork.   “I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says, “Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.” — LEWIS CARROLL, ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND & THROUGH THE LOOKING-GLASS A Snowy Path This was the catfish pond in our backyard at Lake Cypress Springs. The lake itself was on the end of the pond with a dam of ground and a pathway across it. That is our home in the distance... READ MORE HERE “ So may all your enemies perish, LORD! There are others who need your help. There are feet to steady, hands to grasp, minds to encourage, hearts to inspire, and souls to save.” — THOMAS S. MONSON A man leaving and retiring from his job is HARSH. Terry was not ready to retire from American Airlines.  He was only 58 but really sick with pneumonia and had missed many months of work.   Once we got moved, he walked twice to three times daily at the lake.  Sunrise with the deer running by us, Sunset with birds flying around settling for the night and at least one other time during the day.  READ MORE HERE. “Enter through the narrow gate. Choosing your Path for 2020 with Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© +Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2019 Visit Ellepace.com to see available artwork.   “As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives." ― WILFRED ARLAN PETERSON Choosing Your Path When you are a kid, life is really easier.  You can intuitively go where things are inviting you and you always have a good time. As you mature and grow into adulthood, a few of those paths are laid out after you make certain decisions about getting married, or having a baby.  As you sink into full responsible adult life, it calls upon you to make decisions and choices daily. We all go through the anxiety of decisions.  I had a Father that brought me teaching me to make lists… pros and cons. Read More Here   “ Jesus a

A New Year of Magic... can you help me pry myself from my computer??? Laurie Pace Artist from Texas hooked to her Mac Computer

Visit Ellepace.com to see available artwork.   “May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you’re wonderful, and don’t forget to make some art — write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself.”  — NEIL GAIMAN I need words of hope from YOU. How do you keep from overworking? I want to hear from you on how you slow down and smell the roses. I try so hard to limit my time but this computer and marketing suck me into my day and I am often lost to time.
