George RR Martin, A Game of Thrones These babies are beginning to form their personalities here.  Originally I thought the middle one would pull forward the strongest but that is not happening.  Which do you see as leading the trio? Sometimes the strongest personality makes the weakest leader. When we look back at life and think about strong leadership, it is often the quieter thinker that is firm and direct with the approach to a situation and not the loud boist

In life you often make snap decisions.  Somet

You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson I am in the studio working this week. I am experimenting and trying new products and surfaces.  This may be a boring work week for you to see the same painting in steps, but for the week between Christmas and New Years, this is the best I can do. I am working on a birch mounted p

Saturdays are busy... still in preparation for celebrating the first arrival of Jesus Christ to the earth. Every morning we light our candles in our wreath and spend time in God's word seeking his strength and guidance during this time.  The still silence of night often brings the opportun

What are you enamored with?

The Sky is Falling". Many lives became endangers as animals flew into a fearful frenzy. Some versions of the story have an unhappy ending and others an ending where Henny Penny realizes it is important to be brave and figure things out.  Do not believe all you hear on social media or the news. The Lone Wolf Wolf Paintings by Laurie Pace

This painting will be available at Rare Gallery in Jackson Hole.   "I am There" Poem by James DIllet Freeman "Do you need me? I am there. You cannot see me. Yet I am the light you see by. You

Rick and Hollee have asked me for tall vertical paintings of wolves, bison and horses in earth tones.  So I struggle NOT to paint like rainbow bright! "There are nights when the wolves are silent and only the moon howls." George Carlin I chose a wolf with a face fully turned and you will see tomorrow if you watch the slideshow of the paint itself how it evolved to this position in stead.  I slept on it, woke up and came into the studio and changed it all up!

Where the buffalo Roam there will be no bananas. The Microwave is Beeping. Coffee is ready. What do you mean we are out of bananas? Wildlife Buffalo Painting by Laurie Pace

I sketched from another painting that was a three on the run group of buffalo using the same mountain edge and then began to toss the colors in attempting to capture the movement of the day.  The colors were BURSTING with intensity. This is a piece for a March Show at Mirada featuring four artists and the west.  This one runs high with energy for sure. I will post the final next journal. I sway back and forth on whether I like the blues, reds and yellows or the tucked in accents of green and orange.
