Yesterday Terry called to me to hurry up as we needed to walk down the street to see what all the noise was.  I hurried to the coat closet for my mid weight jacket and my long knit scarf Kimberly Conrad made me two years ago... Kimberly I still love it... and headed out the door to catch up with him.  We walked south up our street which is a hill and saw quite a few trucks gathered at the top on our little one car only road.  There were
GOD IS LOVE Contemporary Art Child at Piano Mixed Medium Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 16 x 20 inches Antique Music with varnish layers, acrylic layers and more varnish layers. Contact THE DUTCH ART GALLERY to purchase. "When I am afraid, I will trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?" Psalm 56: 3-4 This piece is entitled GOD IS LOVE because that is the music I chose from the collection of antique music from Great Granddaddy Haskell. Eventually it takes over in our every day life and actions. Psalm 56 was written when David was sized by the Philistines. When I paint these compositions with Children and their music, it always takes me back to my early years at the piano and how much enjoyment I got from learning to play. I still play today and can sit there for hours and lose myself in the music. Do you ever think, Can I ever get there? Do you ever think, Oh if I change this or this, things might work out better? I believe firmly for myself is one of my biggest mistakes (sins) is trying to control and make things better for everyone around me. I want things to work out right and every one to be happy. I want CHANGE to the positive. I want physical change here on earth. What is missing is the fact that G

First Recital Acrylic Mixed Media Collage Piano and Child by Laurie Justus Pace 15 x 30 inches Contact me to Purchase and mention the title of the painting. Laurie I do believe my daughter starts her day with my blog and goes into a panic mode when it is not up by seven a.m. I was busy again. I was watering plants in my garden room, sketching out paintings to work on this week, making a list for what has to be completed by my July 12th show in Jackson Wyoming at the Rare Gallery, checking for airline reservations, hotel reservations etc etc etc. BUT meanwhile I had been layering and working on the painting posted. It is a new trial and error thing with glazing over old music from great granddaddy Haskell. This particular music was marked 1909 with renewal in 1936. Pretty old music I might say. I chose the Song HAPPY BIRTHDAY, but not the one you are thinking of. This was for Mrs. Corinne Rider-Kelsey. I guess back then they hyphenated names too. The music was written by R Hunting
