If I could wish that for each of you, I would.  Imagine the cold in these woods as the photographer came upon the lake early in the morning. The dark clouds breaking up as the sun breaks through with soft oranges and pinks. I know he paused before the shutter clicked, and he felt the magnificence of the arrival of day, just like a new baby being born... the tiny head rotating out first before the next push brings the full birth.  A new day offers new birth to opportunities, new horizons, new experiences, a chance to start again, to discover something new and live another day. This one just called to me to take it's picture late yesterday and I am posting it as my photography and as a celebrated gift to my Mom on her 85th birthday. Mom Today we have family gathering to share a meal and her favorite birthday cake. I am looking forward to seeing all my cousins that have come from far away to celebrate with us. Truly a blessed day for this remarkable woman who has given to the world around her, family, friends and strangers... it did not matter. She gave of her gifts daily. Happy Birthday Mom. Laurie © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2009 The Painting :  This is an oldie from 2007.  I am going to do a small series of color studies of similar paintings.   I did three that year. One was a commission painting that was 3 ft by 4 ft, one was this one 18 x 27 and one was I think 24 x 30 inches in size.   I hope to start on this today.
