'Longhorn' Texas Bevo Longhorn Oil Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Longhorn' 18 x 24  x 2 inches Oil on Canvas SOLD Contact me to purchase: Laurie © Laurie Justus Pace    Graphics One Design 2009 The Painting:  Pulling paint for longhorns varies so many things in the face area.  Each longhorn face is a unique as a human face,  thus the pulls bring in an interesting variable.  The Longhorns are popular for holiday gifts.  I usually get two to three commissions for them.  Contact me early for the holidays. The Thought:    Chameleons are interesting animals.   From an artist standpoint they are ever changing as they match up to their environment.      Robert Fritz once said, " One of the most importnat results you can bring into the world is the you that you really want to be ."     For me it was an artist . I always  believed I was an artist. My entire life I have not swayed from this gift or belief.  I have explored and participated in many different areas of art from teaching, to commercial art, to self indulgence in making my
Bevo Bound for the United Kingdom Contemporary Western Art Longhorn Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD and on its way this week to the UK 24 x 36 inches THICK OIL on Canvas Contact me for Commission work: Laurie "Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart." 2 Timothy 2:22 This bevo is going to go on a long trip from Texas to the UK. He is Texas Born and Bred. Not sure where the BORN and BRED came from, was it a movie? I know in the UK they had a show entitled Born and Bred about four years ago. I think this little fellow will like his new surroundings and will take a bit of Texas with him; he was after all born/created on Texas soil. You were born here on earth, on God's soil. This is God's turf isn't it? If you were blessed you grew up in a family that took care of the "Bred" part and brought you up as a His child in His word. Or maybe later in

Did you ever notice how hard it is to stay Faith-filled when everything around you is screaming FEAR FEAR...run for your life? Between the tumbling, or rather FALLING stock market and the soaring gas prices... oh and do not leave out the soaring unemployement and the grocery store prices....life is a bit off right now. Many of us face thoughts of how to eat next week, or what if I loose my job... and next your health begins to fail and your blood pressure begins to rise. Throughout the bible God has always seen His people through t
Florida Brown Longhorn, Commission Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 48 x 72 inches Oil on Canvas CONTEMPORARY ART FOR YOUR HOME Well, it is almost done. Back and forth with Hilary in Florida yesterday from yellows and marigolds to tans and buttercreams...I am hoping it is dry by Christmas...but it knocked the socks off all the art moms browsing through yesterday. One of the students named it Tex! Old Tex is going to live in Florida. Hilary and I are debating on HOW to ship it. I want to let it dry and then take it off the stretchers and mail it. She would like it to stay together and is trying to figure it out how else to get it there. I was giggling when she said she would drive over to pick it up. Well it fits flat on the bottom of my truck bed, but ....not sure about an suv. Maybe a big van! What a commotion yesterday during art class. Careflight landed at the church across the side road from us. The kids were in a tizzy with the noise. Outside we found an ambulance waitin
Chicago Bound Texas Longhorn 24 x 36 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day SOLD COMMISSION WORK I just finished this commission piece for a Texan now living in Chicago. Can you guess they went to UT? This was a peaceful painting for me as I am beginning to get back into my grove of painting. My right hand is still sore but much more functional than it was. This is one of my pull paintings as I pull color through the surface of the canvas using impasto mixed with the oil...then the longhorn emerges! The paint is again close to 1/4 inch in some places! Today is my MRI. OPEN MRI, but the man said it would still be noisy...I am not smiling as I woke with a migrane today. We cannot eat either...having blood drawn in an hour so I can't have a cup of hot peppermint tea. More later...meanwhile be a good steward today...care for all God has given you, the people in your life, your home, the animals....God gives so much to us, every single second...remember to give thanks! Grace, Laurie
