The new brightness of this day and this moment and the many blessings that are surrounding me and God's love lifting me up from a good night's sleep. This morning I woke to the sound of Lady L's feet pattering in the hall and her loud whispers of "Bampa awake?" The reminder on this Friday in this second week of advent is accept God's direction in this day. In our self-reliant independence we often forget He truly knows what is best for us.  In our stubbornness it is easy to assert our way claiming control and what we define as

This is a very powerful painting and one of my own favorites. Between Jackson Hole Rare Gallery and Mirada that is five pieces in this past week! I am leaving you with simplicity today... Joy is not in things; it is in us. For me that means God is joy.  If God is in you, joy, love, light, peace and love are in you.   Laurie           Psalm 97:11 Light shines on the righteous and joy on the upright in heart. Wolf Wildlife Oil Painting WISE ONE by Texas Contemporary Wildlife Artist Laurie Pace

WISE ONE Beautiful Wolf Painting with expressive wide brush and thick paint. This will go with my collection of wolf pieces I have been working on this summer.  Each of them in a different style. Available.   Email Me. 3 ft by 3 ft  Oil on Canvas        © Laurie Pace   Graphics One Design 1998-2011 LOVE When I was a teen I consulted my Grandmother on happiness.  It was not that I was an unhappy teen, but somehow I felt something missing in my life.  She would hug me and say happiness is like a butterfly. You can go chasing it but you will never catch it.  Happiness lands on you when you least expect it. For Lady L that was falling asleep while reading her book, "I LOVE YOU THROUGH AND THROUGH". So then I think of life in general and what most of us want is acceptance. Acceptance for who we are right now in life. We all want love; we all go searching for love with that acceptance.  My grandmother would tell me it was like a butterfly as well, elusive to my s

Positive Outlook, the Forecast of the Day. Do you meet life in a positive way every morning? We can be confident in God's promises.  If we take someone in confidence, we must trust them a great deal. Seems like confidence can go two directions.  Obviously there is confidence that leads to over self-confidence and bragging or boasting; secondly there is confidence that leads to an inner self assurance that the Bible describes as boldness.  With God at our sides we can 'boldly' do His work in confidence that the results will be His way through His direction.   With God's assurance we can doing anything we need to do for Him to accomplish what needs to be done.  This confidence come from that same trust.  That huge trust that leaves absolutely no doubt in your mind that His

Spring Princess Finished Horse Painting by Texas Contemporary Equine Artist Laurie Pace

Spring Princess I finished this last night. I went with a toned down darker background. It was lighter and very chaotic.  I wanted the horse to dominate.  It is not quite as dark as this image shows. The light was not good for the photography end of this.  This is a different approach for me. If you follow my horse paintings, you know I tend to pull toward the abstract.  The painting is finished withe deep sides continuing on with the content of the mane and the horse itself. Thank you Darci at the Double HP Rescue for sharing your horses with me. Even using your IPhone for traffic maps showing accidents etc, things can change in a blink of a second.   In life I believe we all have plans and goals. They begin indoctrinating you at a young age to plan ahead, or make a list of goals, or a to do list.  What should be on that list?  I am not sure as everyone's is different.  The list I am interested in is not filled with goals and plans but it is a list of simple affirmations that you can recite every day.  God's pl

A first broken bone, speech therapy, basketball, baseball, Playhouse Disney etc.   There was a point my voice broke and I stopped reading.  The tears were falling and the world seemed to turn upside-down.   The youngest son, only age 3, was diagnosed in October with a rare form of kidney cancer, Wilms Tumor .  Terry and I prayed

Those of you who have known me for the past years know that from Sept through the first week in December I get excited about painting. When I do commission work for families and gifts it brings double joy back to me being involved with surprises and special pieces.  So for the next three months if you have a desire for a painting for yourself or a gift, now is the time of year to do.  Every year for the past four years I have called this my "Pay it Forward" time.  Other artists have followed suite doing this and I think that is grand because it is allowing God to work with us and spreads the gifts. The painting above is one of the first that starts this season out. .. and it is huge at

Laurie     © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 My Website   I have to share the story of early this morning.   The dog was up and down all night with allergies...skin broken out and massive scratching. We did not go to bed until after midnight trying to rub tea tree oil on his skin.  About four in the morning something went crash outside the bedroom window.  The dog woke up, Terry work up and I was awake but not out of bed. I wanted to sleep.  Terry took Paddy outside and immediately the scared dog took off into the dark. Not a normal move for the dog. He is usually hiding out behind Terry's legs.    Terry rambled back in and found his flashlight to look for the dog.   Still barefoot, he carefully followed the patio walk toward the hot tub shining his little mag light in the night.  (It is really dark out here)  As he stealthily tiptoed in
