There was a woman that wanted a small original painting I had done similar to this. She died shortly thereafter and her husband commissioned this for their home.  She told him it reminded her of her life as a child with her sisters.  I am always touched by the stories and the love and spirit that works into each of my paintings.     Even to your old age and gray hairs     I am he, I am he who will sustain you. Sisters in the Sand Commission Gift 20 x 20 inches  Oil on Canvas     ©Laurie Pace Graphics One Design 1998-2011   This was painted from a photograph on a beach a long time ago.  I was suppose to do the painting last year but could not find where I have packed the photograph but I came across the sketches I had completed for the painting... so I was able to paint the picture. Two young sisters on the beach, the older one trying to pick up the younger one who is basically leery of the incoming water from the ocean.  The little one looks like she has on someone's t-shirt over her diaper or swimming suit. Forgiveness Seems like an easy thing, a good word, but oh so hard to deal with.  We often allow anger to cause bitterness in our lives. As I progress with this painting I end up layering the paint, building up both texture and value depth through the glazing of translucent colors mixing with vibrant under-laid colors. Closing my eyes I can feel a bubble brush upon my check. It suddenly popped, leaving a soapy lightness kissing my cheek. Bampa sits on the porch making bubbles with his sweet granddaughter. His patience never ending for over an hour as she chased bubbles across the yard.   Simplicity in the play. Beautiful crystal bubbles in all sizes dancing through the air as small hands reach up to, stretching in hope to grasp the elusive sphere floating upward to God. It would probably takes months of this to raise Dallas out of the drought situation we have been in for about 8 years now...but days and days of clouds is beginning to get old. Throw in 90 degrees plus in temperature and you have a humid sticky day. Yesterday was the same I think. It was one of those days I worked in the studio from 5:30 am until 7:30 last night. Somewhere around five pm I realized I had not had ANY WATER all day. I had not been out of this room but one time for some cheese and fruit around noon. No wonder I was a basket case.
