I will always remember this painting. The verse written on it you have seen on this blog and my website... the Lord's Prayer covers the front of the canvas before a light wash of rust red was tinted over it. The wolves were drawn on and the painting began. This is truly a one of a kind, and the best thing to get is a commissioned painting that is one of a kind.  "Blessed are the Peacemakers, for they will be called Children of God." Matthew 5:9 A short blog today. Been busy with learning curves on FB, and Instagram, cooking and then tending to friends.   We all have times in life where our feelings may be hurt by words from others, some intentional hurts, and some that just slip into happening. What do you do with them? A wise min

Every gallery wants something different.  Just like no winter lasts forever, creativity cannot just stop. What has been churning in my mind is:  Acrylic vs Oil Large vs Small Canvas vs Try

Meet Sid... lots of color and layers of paint.    Sid is the wise guy. He is not distracted by all the commotion around him. He has his eyes set on one destination and he is going there with or without the pack.    You can see all the layers of paint that start from dark to light. In oils I find as I pull the paints that

Saturday Night. Edging Out at Sunset... will you join me? Wolf Wildlife Painting by Laurie Pace

These wolves are waking up to do their nightly prowl. Just leaving the edge of the forest, their different personalities emerge as I paint. Most of my wolf paintings are 24 x 36 unless they are commissions. Then it is the size the collector wants painted.  I have not ever painted on for a gallery this size. It is 24 x 48 inches. With each of these paintings come the general wolf pack and each wolf in the pack has his special identity. I love painting their faces and expressio

Winter White Wolf Contemporary Wildlife Palette Knife Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Winter White Wolf  24 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas.    Winter White Wolf is at  Mirada Fine Art  in Denver.  Steve Sonnen can tell you more about this incredible Wolf painting, thick with layers of color and paint.  Mirada has a broad collection of  Laurie Pace’s  signature equine paintings. I started watching some older shows on Netflix because there really is not much on all the cable we pay for that is not full of gun shooting, murder, vampires, and movies filled with panic and bad things happening.   I thought I was safe as I watched reruns of Ally McBeal and Brothers and Sisters. I really like Calista Flockhart and Rob Lowe. I have ordered Rob's latest book to enjoy on upcoming rainy days. I was doing well until I got to the end of Season Three on Brothers and Sisters and Rob's character, probably cast to be about 40, has a heart attack. Just watching his acting with the head

Saying goodbye is not closing a door, but opening a new adventure in another direction. No matter what has happened in the past we are all enabled to begin again today. Let go of what was including your negativity. That is no way to live, only a way to die young. A fresh start comes with hope and newness. You are one with the Creator God as you being. With His divine love you can be filled with only the best.  You can be on your way today... are you ready to say goodbye? That excitement comes from your perspective at the time. Our human brain is limited and that does influence how we react to things around us. The hope is we learn to seek a wholeness when we are ill; to believe in abundance when our financial situation is tight; to work with the knowledge we have gained in our lifetime to be wise in our decisions. Last few weeks I have been struggling with a confused state of mind. (My siblings would probably say I stay this way...) but usually I am very directed and assertive like my father and mother.  I am learning to sit back quietly and find that oneness wi

'The Wolf' Wolf Oil Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'The Wolf' 18 x 24 inches Oil with Palette Knife  SOLD Contact me to make an offer to purchase: Laurie © Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 2009 The Painting :  I began painting and the eyes of this wolf are thickly interesting. I was not sure if I like it but as a whole it is powerful with the thick pulls of buttery oils. Holbein Duo are the best for me. The Thought:   I was reading the send out from another columnist about the imperfections in each of us.  If you are like me, some folks literally drive you up the way with either their words or actions.  My first reaction is patience, but that does not always work.  I do try to contain my frustration. Years of teaching has enabled me to rely on the Suppress Tool.    Lets turn it around. How do other perceive you?  Are they holding their breath and counting to ten because of your actions or words?  We often forget to look at ourselves.   We all have bad days and good days.  We have to accept there is no perfectio
White Tailed Buck Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas 30 x 30 inches Contemporary Modern Art SOLD SOLD SOLD off Daily Painters! Thank YOU!!! Sunday morning in its glory. My friend Cris and her daughter, one of my students, Aly, is coming by in about an hourish to pick me up for church. I am visiting a huge church called Cross Timbers in Argyle Texas. They have four services each weekend. It is definitely different that ANYTHING I am accustomed to. It is a rock band on the stage and none of the creeds and responses I have grown up with. Terry and I visited it about a month ago and enjoyed the difference, so I am eager to visit this morning. This painting is a different subject than I normally paint...but the same brilliant palette of colors mixing and contrasting to pull you into the composition. It is alive for sure. We get in these ruts in life as we try to control it all, thinking wisely ahead and planning. I was reading my new OPRAH magazine last night about 6 woman that just quit th
