This painting is truly a painting tied to my heart. I cannot explain it, but it is. The mist, the colors and the contrast all pull you on the journey across the canvas from left to right. It is almost as if they are stepping off the edge of the world into the mist... charging ahead. Christmas is arriving soon! If you want a commission painting, I still have time to paint something special for you! My Thoughts Above I mentioned how the horses are stepping off the edge of the world. The more I thought about that phrase, they are actually stepping off into the abyss.  I feel we all are on the verge of that abyss today or actually in the abyss. We need a restoration in our lives of at least

Topaz Eyes by Artist Laurie Pace, Contemporary Figurative Painting

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2021 Topaz Eyes  by Laurie Pace -  24 x 24 Framed.  Available at Mirada Fine Art . Shop Available Artwork.   Sign up for my quarterly newsletter and painting sales. Every painting has a journey. This one was a struggle in many ways.  It began totally different than it turned out. Below are a few progress shots.  I have been a brown eyed girl my entire life. As I aged past sixty, I found a lighter amber and some green in my brown eyes!  Hence I sought such beauty in the eyes of this face.   But the close ups are amazing once the piece began to come together!  Each of us as a human being walking this earth go through the valleys and climb the mountains and experience life in so many ways that is molds us and creates in us a deeper being and soul.  This is true p

SOLD  This was one of the show openers at my Denver show that sold after the article came out in Western Art Collector featuring my work and the show at Mirada Fine art. What I did not realize is what a special gallery Mirada truly is.  When I was putting together the article on Mirada for Visual Language and Steve Sonnen sent me the editorial, I was pleased to read about the gallery and see everything.  If you missed it in the magazine, click here to see it. I was so honored by Steve's words: "Mirada features award-winning artists from across the globe. The stunning artwork at Mirada has been meticulously assembled. Although the artists come from across the globe originally, Mr Sonnen selected works that embody the spirit of the region. Mirada’s unique settling helped lure this amazing pool of talent – most of whom aren’t

We were driving from Virginia through Tennessee trying to make it to Memphis. Terry's dad was very ill at the time and we were anxious to get home. There always had been this sense of safeness in coming home. My mom was there at her house and Terry's dad at his place.  Home was not a place but it was the people. Ben is not

It was another day with CFAI.co. Today I am going to pace myself to only 6 working hours as yesterday was 13 hours working on the site.  Those are my words of hope at least! Praying you had a safe New Years and look forward to 2012. We didn't dance or party like we use to... but we enjoyed the change in the year and feel like most people do that it a new start for many things in our lives. Choose for it to be a closer time with the Father. I am heading that way to my bible right now and will start my day in Psalms. When we got back we filled our plates with Terry's yummy lemon roasted chicken and fresh veggies and flipped on a movie he wanted to watch... I think it was called Parenthood.  We came in toward the end of it. It had just started before we made the wild trip to Fedex.  The elderly grandmother in the movie came in to a heated discussion between the husband and wife.  The husband played by Steve Martin , wanted their lives to be safe and perfect in a 'box'
