Happy Birthday Kelly Pace

Today is Kelly Pace's birthday. Enjoy the love story below. This past weekend I was blessed with several hours of our son Morgan working with me in the studio as he painted something special for his wife Kelly for her Birthday.  So today's blog will be sharing Morgan's incredible work.  Morgan can paint... really paint! When he arrived he had something in his head and immediately sought out the canvas and coated it with a strong acrylic layer.  Then the oils came out. The brush became at first still and then relaxed in his hand and the spirit of the paint grew in the composition.   © G.O.D. His great grandfather, Granddaddy Haskell was an artist, and between those genes and mine, he has a gift. Right now he is busy with life and  T D Ameritrade. Hoping to coax him back to

Reflecting on the word brought to mind when Jesus met the woman of Samaria and asked her about her husband...and she immediately changed the subject to worship. Jesus did not press her on the true issue of her past, but allowed her to sway the conversation to her comfort zone and he reached out to answer that of what she asked him. Gentle people will always be cautious of the feelings of others and not probe into unspoken areas. A gentle person seeks to offer comfort and protect others from being "exposed" and condemned. We seem to be forthright society now days in it to always g

Often there are sad memories attached or the death of a loved one. Sometimes is just purely being alone with out family or someone to smile at or sing Silent Night with.  Terry and I were watching a movie on the love channel called Lovely Still by Nik Fackler. Nik was only 22 when he wrote the script for this film. His ability to identify so deeply to the different levels of hi

Growing up in the Justus household Christmas Eve was the magical time. Early supper and church at six thirty. The service was always filled with carols and a short message from the minister. Often the youth would do a page

The new brightness of this day and this moment and the many blessings that are surrounding me and God's love lifting me up from a good night's sleep. This morning I woke to the sound of Lady L's feet pattering in the hall and her loud whispers of "Bampa awake?" The reminder on this Friday in this second week of advent is accept God's direction in this day. In our self-reliant independence we often forget He truly knows what is best for us.  In our stubbornness it is easy to assert our way claiming control and what we define as

Not sure if this is universal or related only to my iphone.  Justin just hooked my iphone up to internet. The old Dallas Church they kids chose to get married in looks pretty ancient. The owner which converted it to a wedding venue, did not have the history on the church. Terry is a mason and we were telling him that most times the first foundation cornerstone would have some indication of marking of the date that the building was constructed.  The owner truly knew nothing of the history of the building and we thought it would be awesome to know more.

There were crowds unbelievable celebrating the happiness of the occasion. The pictures below were taken by my brother Kirk on his phone so they are a bit blurry...but the sentiment is here! Do you have a secret to share? Secrets of the heart. Usually when you do your eyes are sparking with delight that you know something that someone else does not know and you cannot wait until the time is right to share that secret. You wait in anticipation to release what you know. In the bible we read words of "hidden treasures". Those are like secrets. I believe God has many secrets and treasures that are there for us to discover, if we take the time to seek them. "And I will give thee the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I , the Lord, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel." Isaiah 45:3 It is amazing to me, that once you being to share with God daily, He awakens in you things you have not
