Dust in the Wind.

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2020 Summer Horse 100 from 2012  by Laurie Pace - Sold.  Visit Ellepace.com to see available artwork.   We were settled in for the night of Sunday movies, showered and ready for bed.  The wind was up outside but it was not until I saw out the window our 10 x 10 ft tent FLY across the backyard, that I realized something was not right. We both reacted quickly and hit the back door with slippers forgoing our boots.  The tent had been staked firmly into the ground and been up for the past week sheltering our young peach tree from the summer burn of a week of 105 plus temps (heat index well over 110).   The tent was upside down and push into the branches of a large red oak mid yard.  The tent would have been in Waco by now if it had not been for the tree.  It took both of us wrestling the metal stand to hold it still while Terry unhoo...

Abstract Horse Painting Power of Three in Progression by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Progression on Power of Three I have Softened the colors and carved out the eyes moving them more to the side of the head; also thickened the ridges of paint on the mane. Getting closer to done... SOLD commissioned painting. 2 ft by 3 ft  Oil on Canvas     ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011 Contact me for your own commissioned painting or to purchase this piece: Laurie      BLESSINGS GREAT AND SMALL Jack shared a wonderful message at church which included "blessings often in disguise." I am grateful for all of them, even those in disguise I seem to miss.  If I take the time to look around me... REALLY stop my mind from thinking ahead and look around me, I can see blessings surrounding me everywhere.   It was the rain on Saturday... today the cooler morning temperatures (Well 74 is cooler than 84 at six a.m. ); the 1/2 inches of rain in our rain gauge, the smile and morning kiss I received from my husband; and ma...

McKenzie Painted Ponies Commissioned Painting SOLD  This collector sent pictures of her rugs, drapes, fabrics, walls, furniture and her current artwork.  This helps so much when doing a commissioned painting. 3 ft by 4 ft  Oil on Canvas   ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011   Contact me for your own commissioned painting: Laurie      JOY is Mine. As I reflect more on the wisdom of not worrying... substituting joy instantly into my thought process when it begins to waver into forbidden worry area... I find that JOY is mine...and it is but a blink and a positive thought away. How easy could that be? There are times in our lives that our spirits ebb and drop into a low area. I believe it must be normal because if we did not have our lows we would not have our highs.  Days of deep sadness are balanced by days of laughter and love with family or friends.  Some days we find depressing thoughts creeping into ou...

Abstract Horse Painting July Sunrise Equine Art by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

July Sunrise Palette Knife Work Horse Painting at its best.   6 x 6 in  Oil on Board    ©Laurie Pace   Graphics One Design 1998-2011   Long Range Forecast We were at dinner last Thursday and discussion came up of course about the unrelenting 100 degree plus temperatures.  We have had close to 30 days over the century mark... the heat much stronger than even last year if you can believe that.  Sheriff Paul told us the Farmer's Almanac mentioned a rainy August. It definitely raised my hopes. I have been praying for rain. Several days prayers were answered in the teasing form of a 20 min shower and then steam heat following it. Rain in August?  So I looked up the Farmers Almanac prediction for our area in Texas.  Yep, it was there in black and white... above average rainfall for August. One might get excited about that prediction, but when you read the July prediction in the paragraph above... it wipes out your hope entirely...

Laurie   © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2011 My Blog My Website       Giclees on Canvas, Prints and Cards   Okay so I missed a day blogging . I cannot say yesterday was a stellar day but I worked hard.  It did not help that Sunday night I didn't sleep well, kept waking up hot. We had been to a Superbowl Party and I was pretty good staying with veggies and bean stuff wrapped in lettuce...but I slipped with a handful of potato chips .  The Bean stuff was good, look for recipe below. So waking up I was Mrs. Grumpy Pants ... as grandson Jonathan would say.  I skipped breakfast and lunch and did not eat until three in the afternoon...two more lettuce wrapped bean things... and Terry made us salads at ...

Laurie    © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2011 My Blog My Website   Giclees on Canvas, Prints and Cards   I had seen just the first two lines of this poem posted in several places in my life. I had never found or read the entire poem.  It truly is something to take to heart this first Sunday in the new year 2011. The will of God will never take you, Where the grace of God cannot keep you, Where the arms of God cannot support you Where the riches of God cannot supply your needs, Where the power of God cannot endow you. The will of God will never take you, Where the Spirit of God cannot work through you, Where the wisdom of God cannot teach you, Where the army of God cannot protect you, Where the hands of God cannot mold you. The will of God will nev...

The Thought : Blog is late this morning.  The computer froze up as I was finishing it and wham I had to force quit Firefox and I lost the entire thing. Even the normal save as draft was not functioning in blogger.  So this will be short and sweet as it took me 45 min to write what was here and I do not have the time this morning to repeat the exercise! Whatever His plan is, it was not for me to share what I had written. I was given ...
THROUGH THE LEAVES Contemporary Art Abstract Horse Palette Knife Painting By Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 36 x 2 inches of Dynamic Fall Colors! Contact me to Purchase: Laurie It almost feels like Summer is still here. The highs are in the mid to high eighties. At least the nights cool off. I am way overdo waiting for winter to be here. I will have another warm birthday this year and that is weird to have it so warm outside in November for so long. I used a different color palette on the painting I posted today. I am stepping out of the box a bit with it. Those of you that have my horses, let me know what you think. I have been sad lately after the trip to Bonham to see Dad. I feel like someone let all the air out of my tire. It is unusual for me to be down as I am usually more on the up side. What does one do when they are in this position? My dad would say, just fake it. My grandmother was told me happiness would elude me if I looked for it...it was something that crept into your l...
IN MORNING LIGHT Contemporary Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 30 x 30 inches Contact me to purchase and mention name of the painting. Laurie This painting is still available. The previous offer has turned into a 48 x 48 inch commission piece, so if you are interested in this painting, it is still available. This morning I had an email from a young mother of two autistic children. Many of you know my eldest grandson died a year ago in February and he was gifted with autism. His gift taught all of us so much about life. His short time here on earth made his journey into our hearts even more important. You never know how much time you have with those you love...call someone today and let them know you care! MEANWHILE.... I am so good at sidetracking, back to the email. The mom seemed a bit down with all that was on her plate. She was pulled to my work through Color. I have told you many times in my blog, color is an addiction problem for me. She used those same words and I ...
Home on the Range Abstract Horses Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 36 inches SOLD I am late blogging today because I needed space to calm my spirit. I didn't paint at all yesterday. I was planning on Church and Jack VanVessem's awesome Sunday School Class. I took time to shower, dress, get on my makeup, spray my perfume, white linen skirt, blue teal jacket...and Catherine called saying she was on her way. I went to let the dogs in and of course, Annie would not come in. Paddy was jumping up and down threatening my cleanliness so I shoved him into the house and pulled the door shut. I had Annie's leash in my hand. It took a bit but I clipped it on her and headed to the back door. IT WAS LOCKED. As I begin to think, Catherine will be pulling up front...and then I realized the gates are padlocked. Those keys are inside too. The garage door is a deadbolt lock like the house. I am literally locked in my back yard. It was cold outside and that linen teal jacket did ...
Canyon Spirit Horse Oil Painting By Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 18 inches of abstract colors and a dashing horse! SOLD The sun is up and the birds are in full chorus outside...it is a wonderful day. This is the day that the Lord hath made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it! Todays painting is an exploration of another approach to the canvas. If it calls to you email me for a good price! Exploring in life is always a must. God is really good about closing doors. We must use our wisdom gained through our life experiences to be wise and find an open window. Yesterday morning I went to my parents house and fixed breakfast. It was a treasured time to share a meal with them. God is good! After eating mom sent dad into shower and we sat and visited. She has been seeking direction on several issues in her life that involved changes. Major changes. She sat back and said, "I guess I will wait until God knocks me upside the head." I sat forward and yelped "NO". I have bee...
DIRECTIONAL ~ Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 48 x 2 inches, Oil on Deep Wrap Canvas SOLD THANKS for supporting Daily Painters Contact me for Pricing Laurie Pace Saturday early before the city has awaken....I am here at the computer blogging. I painted until almost nine last night on a few pieces, going from easel to easel. Will paint more this morning and then I have to clean house. AND unpack books. This is on a huge canvas 24 x 48. I squirm when I paint on these because Terry hates shipping them. I do not paint on them often for this reason. Carl from Pane in the Glass came yesterday and replaced my broken Kitchen window and fixed the curio cabinet that was broken in the move. He is such a pleasant man and I was fortunate to find him through the internet when we arrived. NOW, Terry only has to replace the sliding glass door in the kitchen. Then we will have all the cracked glass areas replaced. Do you have cracked areas in your life? Are they in need of repair? ...
HEADSTRONG ~ Abstract Contemporary Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 22 x 28 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contact me for pricing or commission work. Laurie Pace Thursday, the days are escaping and I didn't pack one box yesterday. This painting I finished three days ago. I am trying to paint ahead because it will be difficult once we get further into this weekend. I would haul paints to my mom's temporarily and work, but decided I needed to not mess up her house...just paint less and pray more that God will provide. Today will be my last day with the Justin Art Students. I really have not forewarned them because I did not know until our buyer finally made up their mind about so many last minute changes. That was not a comfortable time for us. In art I will allow them to paint a painting for Christmas for their parents in acrylic. I will be digging out canvas already packed! Calmness is the word today I will concentrate on, especially during this season. Though ...
