The Beta Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2012 The Beta 20 x 30 Inches Acrylic on Canvas  Available through Rare Gallery Jackson Hole, Wyoming Contact Hollee . Words of my heart... But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. Matthew 12:36 I found this empty pot sitting on the deck caught between shadows and light. It reminds me of how we are living right now... we are all between shadows and light often pulled one way or the other by persuasion from others, or our own ego stepping out to control us.   READ more here.... Abstract Horse Painting Expressionism in Progress by Texas Equine Artist Laurie Pace

Progress on an Abstract Expressionistic Horse Painting 30 x 40 x 2 Inches  Mixed Media on Canvas I am not sure of direction in the painting or the direction of the finished piece.  I will be delivering pieces to Mirada this month for the July show,  and also pieces to the Rare Gallery in Jackson Hole . This is about 1/3 of the way done. The piles and layers of paint take days to build up. This is one day of work.  © Laurie Justus Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011 Contact me for Commission Work: Laurie         I SAW IT IN MY MIND'S EYE.... In my pea brain I often have this inner vision in my head of a painting. Of course that NEVER comes out on canvas the same way.  I cannot figure that out.  It probably would if I were leaning back to realism, but once I begin working with colors, scraping and layering, all previsions are off.  The paint has it's own idea of what it will do. I have told you before I commit each piece to God for His spirit to work thr

Progression on Return of the Wolf Pack 36 x 24 inches  Oil on Canvas This Wolf Oil Painting is for my Jackson Hole Gallery,  The RARE GALLERY. If you are interested in this painting you need to contact Hollee Armstrong .   ©Laurie Pace       Graphics One Design 1998-2011 The Midnight Hour It was near midnight when I stopped painting last night.  I was up about an hour ago but just now coming in to blog.  From workshop to Jackson Hole work this week and then to finish up the Denver work.  Add Morgan and Kelly's wedding to the mix and you have a busy May. This weekend here in Mt Vernon is Mayfair for the annual art show and a wine festival. We evidently have vineyards nearby that Terry and I have not explored. God's grace penetrates my mind in times like these. Seems like the plate is overfilled part with good things and part with busy work, but I find if I keep my eyes on Him and my heart open to Him, I will find my way.  I do not believe He wants our plates ever to
Finding Peace Contemporary Art Daily Horse Painting with Palette Knife by Laurie Justus Pace 20 x 20 x 2 inches of thick Oil Contact me to purchase. Should be dry and ship before Christmas. Laurie Don't forget to stop by www.LakewoodSeries.blogspot.com . Stay updated with the events in this new Christian Book Series. Saturday finds me here ready to paint. This is one I worked on yesterday. I think it is done. I like the play on colors and the subtle changes of light. Hence the title FINDING PEACE . First I would suggest we examine the definition of peace. Webster tells me it is a state of tranquility or quiet; freedom from civil disturbance; freedom from disquieting or oppressive thoughts or emotions; a harmony in personal relationships. Who would not want that in their life? The perfect state of tranquility...wow. I would believe in my heart most of you reading this would yearn for tranquility and quiet, even if it were only for a short fifteen minutes. Think what you could
THE COURTING DANCE Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 24 inches SOLD I am relaxed this morning and not so tense for a change! Sometime last night between dinner and bed a genuine feeling of ease filled my body and mind. I am going to have breakfast and begin painting this morning and truly looking forward to my alone time in the studio. Rest today in the knowledge that God is the total source of serenity. Your world has been filled with challenges of rising food costs, gas expenses, and life in general. This probably tends to bring a feeling of discouragement. Letting go of the struggle to allow the peace of God to fill your life in this very moment. Be at peace my friend. Grace, Laurie "The God of Peace be with all of you." Romans 15:33
Paris, Open Cafe in the Rain by Laurie Justus Pace 4 ft by 12 ft SOLD I am one TIRED artist today. These are not even the final shots. It was late late last night when I finished up the faces of each character and that is not shown in any shots. These are shots Terry took While I was working. Scramble Monet and Renoir into this Paris Rainy Night Cafe with strollers under umbrellas in the background. A weary waiter is my favorite part of the canvas. May have to do one JUST of him. Today I will be working on a 3 ft by 4 ft Conductor from the symphony. Muted tones so I hope not to fall asleep. Starter Bread. Have any of you gotten any of the FRIENDSHIP STARTER BREAD lately? I had not had any since Dec of 1998. I was thrilled to get a bag yesterday. In ten days I will have mini starters that I can share and from those grow even more. So if you have a hankering to have some of that great bread, email me. I will fedex it overnight in the starter bag and we will get this rolling. We s
Horse Play Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 22 x 28 inches SOLD Okay, so I got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. I am extremely grouchy. Funny because this is way NOT the norm for me. We had birthday dinner with Morgan and Hillary last night. Morgan fixed a scrumptious dinner for Hillary's birthday and we ate until we were overstuffed! Chocolate birthday cake with ice cream finished it off. Terry and I drove home and once in bed fell into a deep slumber...and then... BAM. I woke startled and disoriented... He ran into the wall on his way to the bathroom at 3 a.m. I surfaced enough to realized I had a pounding headache and as I rolled over he hit the main light switch in the room trying to turn on the fan. That was even more painful. He finally landed in bed like a flip flopping fish and then reached up to pull on the fan cord to speed the fan up and ONE MORE TIME turned on the room light. I was groaning by then. Normally I am a good sport about things
Long Day My Buddy and Me Series by Laurie Justus Pace 8 x 10 x 2 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas. SOLD Thank you for supporting Daily Painters! Laptops are not my favorite when it comes to dealing with paintings and viewing them. I have no clue what this truly looks like. BUT I am up out of bed, it is 65 degrees outside and the sun is shinning. The HVAC man is here and they have begun there work. Our heat depends on the plumber showing up and when he will get here. Today I will be working on a painting for the new gallery here in Texas. Size will be 3 x 4 ft and definitely not one of TErry's favorite to box. I am culling ideas over in my head right now so I am floating between oils and acrylics. Painting in the kitchen yesterday afternoon was nice with all the light. Made me realize how much light I need to really get into my painting area. Diane wrote she uses big construction flood type lights... much to think about. But I wanted to drop in and blog quickly this morning
THE GLARE ~ Contemporary Horse Abstract by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contact me for details Laurie The eyes are the door to the soul for me. This particular horse has a look that you cannot take your eyes from his. Intense determination seems to ooze out! Yesterday was filled with a trip back to Justin Texas to retrieve cardboard for shipping paintings, Terry's Grandfather's bed and my painting rack. We still have one more trip for PVC Pipe. Couldn't get it all in the truck. We ended up there around Lunch time and Terry wanted to stop at the Local Burger place for sweet tea and a hamburger. Mind you we thought this place was really good about 6 weeks ago. It took less than two chews on my first bite to know I would not eat the hamburger. The salad I ordered was basically two shredded leaves of lettuce in 1/2 of honey mustard dressing. That is the dressing I ordered on the side. The French fries were right good. I ate half of thos
