Morning Tea Pot Still Life Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 8 x 10 inch on Linen Panel Inquiries: Laurie It is time for some new mental skills in life. Are you ready for this one? I am not, but I am praying that God leads these fingers across the keyboard in front of me. I just got notice that my blog has been 'hit' or read over 30,000 times. Can I say WOW? Praise to God! I am inserting this note after finishing the blog below. After I complete my blog daily I usually go to either Dailyword.com or to Biblegateway.com for my bible verse. At Biblegateway I look up passages and at Daily Word I stop to read their message for the day, something I have been doing for over 40 years. I am always surprised when I do how often what I write ties so closely into their lesson for the day. I never go there first, I always write first. I went back into this blog and inserted some of the phrases from today's thought infused with in my thoughts. As a baby you learned thousands of thi
Fruit and Flowers Still life Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 12 x 16 inches Inquiries: Laurie Painting this morning for sure. Calls from The Red Tree Gallery for additional pieces and that will definitely keep me busy! Yesterday Mom finally went with me to Three Fountains to swim. Brother Kirk went with us. With in moments I knew I could live there and love it. The pool is warm bath temperature, which is really good for me! We stayed in a bit long and got pruney, but she moved around quite a bit; so much so was rather weak getting out. We have a way to go to build up strength. I hope God was not listening to that last remark...reminds me of someone once saying to me 'do not pray for patience'.... I am beginning to get the picture... don't pray for strength or you can be sure some trials are on the way to answer your prayers! How do you build strength in your life? Do you think God will just touch your heart and you will have the strength? A good parent wants the
MY TEAPOT Still Life by Laurie Justus Pace 8 x 10 Oil on Linen Panel SOLD Good morning. I am JUST out of bed. Told you something was captivating about the bed... I never sleep in and you know that if you are a blog reader! This painting is a small but dynamic one with at least ten layers of paint. Not sure the picture does it justice. Today my God-child arrives. A teenager in the house. We will see how it goes from here. Mix in Mom still staying with us and Terry's new schedule and wow, life is going to get interesting. I want to remind many of you to take care of yourself. See to your needs today. Do something special just for you. Take time and allow yourself to wind down and be quiet. Treat yourself with something you are missing, laugh today and remember to pray and give thanks to the Lord. I was awake for about 30 minutes in the middle of the night, and I spent that time in prayer over some things racing through my head. God and the pillow/bed won out and I went back
Early Morning Tea ~ Contemporary Still Life by Laurie Justus Pace 8 x 10 Oil on Linen Panel Contact me for Price. Laurie Brrr Cold outside it is. I am up and ready for a hard day in the studio. I was rather distracted yesterday between my haircut, shopping with Stacey and added adventures through out the day. This painting was finished this morning with last touches. Simple splashes of color combining with light to bring out an early morning cup of tea from last Thursday. Shopping with Stacey. My daughter has become QUEEN of COUPONS. Don't know exactly when she contracted the illness but it has it grasp on her pretty tight. I am not one to scoff at coupons. I remember when in my early days I had a pouch of neatly clipped out coupons all organized into their cozy little slots waiting to be plucked out and turned in at the cash register. I believe I did this in and out over about a ten years period. I finally trashed the little coupon holder about 18 years ago. I haven'
ART BOOKS AND ROSES by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contemporary Art for the Home MONDAY! I am up way early while Terry sleeps. The train woke me at four. Usually it does every morning. We did get an offer on our house last night, just as I am gather in bids to add on the studio. Lots of prayers are needed as we make this decision. This painting is a reach back to my old still life style. Not perfect, but interesting. Somethings you leave as they are and not overwork them. That happens in life too...we try too hard to make it perfect we ruin it or we confuse it...what we are working on, not necessarily our life. TOO much of a good thing. I know the bible takes often about moderation. I think that applies to everything, including worry. Shalom Laurie "But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign LORD my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds." Psalm 73:28
