Crossing the Rio Grande

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2023 Crossing the Rio Grande 5 x 8 feet  Oils on Canvas. Commission This was one of three commissions completed for a law firm in Houston. We were living out at Lake Cypress Springs during that time and the canvas size was 5 x 8 ft for two of them and I did a panel triplet for the third one.  I have many of the process pictures on this, but am sharing mainly the raw beauty of the final painting and the area of the Rio Grande that has the same colors and wild feel. All was done in Palette Knife with a dance of color and texture creating the story.  If you want a personal commission painting for your home... contact me on my website.  I would need to know the size and the subject matter, your time table of need, a down payment and the dance with paint can begin.  Strength from Sorrow Now it came to pass after the death of Moses, the servant of the Lord, that the Lord spoke into Joshua, the son of nun, saying Moses my servant

He watches You-tube for news. ??  Anyone can say anything and put it up on you-tube. Actually any newscaster can create a factious story and put it on the 'regular' news.  I have been overfilled with politics already and we are not even in the last stretch of the election for Nov 2020.  The media has the world painted black as doomsday between the ongoing negative rhetoric of the sky is falling and our nation is failing. Only a few politicians and leaders speak with a kind

Laurie " With you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light. " Psalm 36:9 What do you do when you need to be energized? In the studio I will opt to crank music up and the beat will energize me into action. In the same sense, when I need to be quiet, I will put on quiet music to soothe the soul and rest the heart. Prayer is something that is used to quiet myself just before falling asleep and again just as I wake up. During the day I have continual conversations with God, but concentrated prayer puts me in a meditative state where I listen as I pray. God provides His Divine Energy to refresh and renew us. I think I often miss it. It may be the red rose blooming on my JFK rose bush, or the wind blowing outside the studio rustles the leaves and branches on the huge trees in the back yard. It might even be the water at Lake Ontari
PUPPY LOVE Contemporary Art Daily Painting Dog Schnauzer by Laurie Justus Pace 11 x 14 inches of Oil SOLD Contact me for commission work for Christmas: Laurie I think I am burned out on cooking for awhile. I had everything made but the cornbread stuffing and left that for my eldest son to fix when he got here. It is something that is a no brainer and he actually is a wonderful cook. When he and Jan arrived she and I decided we would work on the tree and I set Justin to work in the kitchen. It only took about 20 min and I had to go assist. What I had forgotten was how totally messy he is. I spent more time cleaning up than I did anything else. I think I clocked in about 12 hours in cooking and clean up. Then when everyone left they took bags full of food and Terry and I will buy another Turkey this weekend so we can have a week of left overs. I told Terry HE could do the cooking! The fresh cranberries were awesome....as was the stuffing. Two of my favorites! I have not had br
