TINY BLUE IRIS Flower Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 18 inches SOLD Morning has broken and I am cleaning the studio. Terry is still asleep and the dogs are under foot at the moment. I put off my morning shower to finish doing the dirt in here. I just found my favorite exercise dvd, DANCE OFF the Inches with Juliane Arney. It is pretty good! I will be cranking it now that I found it. Want to figure out how to get my drying rack in here. I want to sell my large drafting board to make room for it. Terry did not want to do that when we moved here, but it has become a catch all for everything. It is not a place I can work. If he can get it fixed (The drawer is broken) I can set my watercolors up on the table and use it, but right now I do not like it in here. No catch alls are needed. I was glancing at daily word this morning before rolling out of bed. Sometimes I refer to the thoughts from there in my blog. I think I have to this morning. It touches on miracles, faith and
BLENDING IN Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD Contact me for commission work: Laurie Woke with bad dreams this morning. Dreamed I was in the kitchen pulling a large bag of frozen peaches out of the bottom freezer when having the bottom freezer drawer pulled open caused the refrigerator to tip over and crush down on me. Stacey was in the kitchen and Morgan was hovering about...but he was little, not full grown. Terry, my husband, was close by and I said "Morgan, go get Terry to get this off of me, hurry." and Stacey was pushing with all her might in her 5 ft frame body and it was not budging. She could not budge that huge refrigerator and Terry and Morgan didn't return. I woke gasping for breath and out of fear of not wanting to finish the dream. I told Terry about it and said I felt very stressed and overburdened with all I was responsible for. He said it made sense, Morgan is the youngest and we still tend to still help him out financially and he sh
STRENGTH OF SPIRIT Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 30 x 30 inches SOLD Okay, no video. We took one of a family game of CLUE with Jonathan...but it is rather boring! We did eat lots of good food and everything was weight watchers until we got to dessert. Stacey brought a chocolate cream pie and an apple pie and weight watchers lemon bars. BUT all in all, it was delicious! After we ate we took a break before dessert and played a trivia game. I had researched on the internet trivia on Easter. I had prepared 24 questions and the most answered by one team was 6 1/2. Did you know there are over 90 million chocolate Easter Bunnies made each year? OR that the first egg roll, hunt at the White House was with President Hayes and his wife? The Easter Lily Capital of the World is in California and Oregon? They ship out over 11 million Easter lily bulbs worldwide? We all learned a lot and laughed even more. Did you know here in Texas we have Easter - Eve Fires? The German's
BALDWIN Three Commissioned Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 3 ft by 4 ft Contact me for Commission Work: Laurie I was contacted by JJ Baldwin out of Lufkin Texas to paint her mom's favorite three horses. She wanted the fauvistic style I use with lots of color. The painting is drying now and will ship next week, but I wanted to share it with you. This is three ft by four ft in size and full of thick buttery oils! The weather is gorgeous here, but I heard this morning Easter will be cold and rainy. We bought a ham at Whole Foods last night for Easter and I will fix food for family. Mom and I shopped at Albertsons early yesterday and I picked up one of those precooked chickens. Georgia had told me about the EGG NOODLES in the freezer that are like dumplings. I bought some of those too. I started out with chicken broth and added orange lentils to it and cooked them down. Then I added the chicken I had taken off the bone, onion, celery and carrots. The lentils kept it t
Moonlight Two Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 18 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contact me to Purchase: Laurie Yesterday will not soon be forgotten and today may be as difficult. We were with out internet until late last night and about mid day yesterday my mother was taken to the ER and is in the hospital. Prayers are welcome for her and my dad. My dad has Alzheimers and is here staying with Terry and I. It was a rough night and it made me more realize the hell my mother lives through at night. He was up to go to the bathroom and found it directly across the hall because we left a small light on, but then he could not find his way back. He has no way of remembering where he is or why he is here. I had woken slightly hearing him and laid their listening. Not long after he opened our door and I jumped up to help him find his way back to his bed. There was no way I would sleep after that and it was only 1:15. He must have wandered a bit before making his way to our
A BITE OF APPLE Child and Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 8 x 10 Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas contact me to buy: Laurie I posted this painting about two weeks ago but something did not work between my computer and my blog, so I am posted it again! It is still available. Most have sold off the blog. It is a palette knife painting with thick paint, a young baby boy with a horse trying to get to his bite of apple. Another in my series MY BUDDY AND ME. Did you ever think of God in that manner.... My buddy and me? We are never alone if we have faith. The Father is ever present in the darkest hour and again in the brightest moment. I say darkest hour because those seem the longest to me. The bright moments seem to flash by when I think in actuality we do not give them the credibility they deserve. We have to have dark to have light and the Lord provides this constantly in our days/nights and in our lives. BUT if you have your "buddy" with you, you are never alone in
