"Quiet is peace. Tranquility. Quiet is turning down the volume knob on life. Silence is pushing the off button. Shutting it down. All of it. - Amir"  Khaled Hossieni This is the week of Christmas. I told Terry (my hubby) that I wanted to savor each and every day of this time. With the stress of this year, we are keeping our focus on the beauty of each day as we approach Christmas.  Finding "Quiet" is often hard in today's world.   For me, quiet can be found: walking through a park filled with tall trees turning the colors of fall. on the ocean slicing through the waves in a sail boat.  sitting in front of a warm fire watching the snow outside. tucked in a fav chair reading your newest favorite book. hold

We had the granddaughters here today and watched the Christmas Chronicles 2.  We enjoyed the time together with them. Makes us almost feel normal again.  Are you getting out or seeing your family at all?  Never thought life after sixty would EVER be like this!  The eldest is almost 12.  I was sharing with her how in love I was with Kurt Russell when he was 12 and starring in a western entitled " The Travels of Jamie McPheeters ".  Then explained how he and Goldie Hawn had been a couple forever but never married.  We looked at Goldie's photos over the years as well. The 'olden days'.  I never thought I would hear that!    Wanted to share the pa

I did the first portions of this live on Instagram.  It is almost ready to ship out with a pre-glaze on it.   It is already late on Thursday night and I am not sure where the day went. Our two granddaughters came to spend the day.  It was full of school work first, and then time in the backyard in the sun helping their Bampa rake leaves from our nine trees out back!  I am trying to figure out how to shop for Christmas.  Still need to buy gifts for two of the grandsons... we are not doing gifts for the adults this year. We will be celebrating quietly apart again. Just like Thanksgiving.

This was a painting from the past created from photos from Debbie Grayson Lincoln. She gave me permission to use it for a painting.   We lived at Lake Cypress Springs at the time. It was donated to help raise medical funds for a man in the area.   Did you notice how behind every painting there is a story or something inspiring it? Isn't our life like this?  We are a compilation of stories.  It took me too many years through those early "stories" to realize the more I tried to control things, the further my life spun out of control.  Something about the sixties, you begin to realize you are in the last chapter of life, especially at 68. Your thoughts run differently and you respond to things differently.  This really became a home run with Covid strik

" As an adult with a passion for horses, I always dreamed of a stallion running across the field in the starlight.  As far as " I wish I may, I wish I might have my dream come true tonight... " I would love to be bareback on that beautiful horse racing against the wind under Texas stars!   I would love to know what you dream about. When I paint something from music or something my dreams has inspired, I always bring to the canvas. Color is always primary. This is the beginning look to my direction as I began the canvas in the painting

I have had maybe less than 5 or 6 bad days since March 1st.... I have always looked for the

Herd mentality is basically following the herd... and truly that is not following the path God intends for you .  God wants each of us to find contentment . That is NOT following along what other people are saying or doing. God wants us to use our individual gifts to serve him.   That is NOT following along with a herd. The word individual has no space in a herd. God wants to hear us laugh. The natural response to laugh is tied
