Colorful Hydrangea Flower Painting

© +Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2019 The Gathering   30 x 40  Oil on Canvas  “ “With freedom, flowers, books, and the moon, who could not be perfectly happy?”. Oscar Wilde  This past week I moved into painting something soft and brushed with the colors of my heart.  I am pretty sure it is done unless I unleash on it next week once it is dry for a second time.  When I think of bringing in a neutral off-white to the painting, it seems to puzzle me on why... I still may do it. I am rather drawn into this soft colorful hydrangea painting.  Meanwhile I was up till after midnight struggling with something that kept me awake, but nothing I could grasp easily. I pulled out my spiral and began writing. Four pages later, a peace began to fill my mind and my body began to relax.   We are all a product of our environment. We are affected by computers, ipads, phones, television and more. I heard on the news the new Iphone 11 is causing cases

Not sure where the year went but am sure the new one arrived.  Here in North Texas it is cold and rainy and a little bit of ice on top. Today it is going to thaw out to fifty degrees!  New Year always brings thoughts of starting over, laying out plans, making those resolutions we all break... but I believe it is a often a search for happiness.  Talk to my grandmother and you would immediately realize you can not 'find' happiness.   Happiness finds you. No 96 Early Sunflowers, Flower Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

No 96 Early Sunflowers    © +Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2014  Size:9 x 12  Oil on Canvas. Sold Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Has to be one of my favorite paintings. Began with a solid black canvas... acrylic so it dried quickly. Then I sketched out my sunflowers randomly in white chalk and then went straight to my oil paints creating this dynamic sunflower painting. Small but powerful, it is sold, but again something to draw inspiration from. If you are a beginning artist I highly recommend this approach with trial and error. Black acrylic covers the canvas and then build your painting on top of it.  I shared a lesson last year on pumpkins on my website, starting in black and moving forward. Hints of Picasso, Floral Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Hints of Picasso   © +Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2014  Size:18 x 24  Oil on Canvas.SOLD Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  This is an older painting reposted but looking at it makes me want to paint something similar. This may inspire a painting this weekend.  The approach to the canvas on this floral painting was to create the background with layers of rubbed acrylic paint and then to block out the vase and flowers on top of the rubbed acrylic. The top painting is in oil and the finish is incredible as a mixed media painting. Teach me, Lord, the way of your decrees,     that I may follow it to the end. Funny Flowers, Contemporary Flower Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Funny Flowers  Size:12 x 12  Oil on Canvas. Contemporary Flower Painting Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  So I had this urge to paint with a brush but kept it to a small canvas as I knew it would not survive the journey.  Part of getting it out of my system I guess. BUT it was fun.  About two hours after finishing it... yep, it became a horse and you will see it tomorrow.  Just remember quiet flowers BLOOMING into action when you see it. If I am not open to trying the brush on occasion I find myself in a rut. I need to stay open to new ideas and new things around me. Abundance surrounds me. Abundance is something that is there for all of us. It may not be in what we think we need or want... but we have abundance in our lives.  In my head is a constant abundance of ideas, discussions, debates, celebrations and songs. Yet I know we all experience the feeling that we are lackin
