Bless us in whatever experiences this day may bring to each of us. May we plant seeds of blessings to grow in the lives of others. May we have the energy to meet this day and its needs. May we not be distracted by worries. May we each enjoy every single simple quiet moment. Give us honesty and kindness living this day forward.  This beautiful horse Painting hangs in the home of one of my collectors. I was delivering two paintings to her home a week ago, and was thrilled to get to see the other pieces she had hung over the years. The one I’m sharing this morning is one of my favorites. The vivid contrasting colors combined with the horizontal movement of the horses across the water accented by the change of light at sunset, creates that feeling of the close of day, with the closing majest

Within decades we must close our eyes again. Isn’t it a noble, an enlightened way of spending our brief time in the sun, to work at understanding the universe and how we have come to wake up in it? This is how I answer when I am asked—as I am surprisingly often—why I bother to get up in the mornings.” ― Richard Dawkins I write of color tonight as the world around us is filled with color...both silent color and high bright noisy color. Reading the quote I found that I am in agreement on finding the beauty all throughout the day and night.  The painting above has the high intensity colors contrasting beautifully

Stories usually have a beginning and an end. When you are born and when you die.  In between are small inner paragraphs of stories making up your full life story.  Today many of you can share these short stories from your life... and right now there may be high school teachers, college professors, life coaches, or even headhunters that want the real story of your past including accomplishments, the goals you have achieved, about your first job, or if you are focused on being a leader. They want you to share it all and 'beef it up', evoking empathy along the way to make your story important. People will ta

"It comes in steps before you feel the full power of love surrounding you. Same with this painting... I had an odd beginning with acrylic light layers before the oil joined the circle. I chose horses of course and in their true color of spirit... for me the Spirit of the Paint is God and His unfailing love for us. I bring you Circle of Love to start every day with!"  Elle   CIRCLES Circles are important in our lives. I came across an article on circles. Humans are drawn to the shape and even young babies  prefer Circle to straight lines.  A preference for circular shapes is deeply ingrained in all of us from birth.  "A 2011 eye-tracking study found that at five months of age, before they utter a word or scribble a drawing, infants already show a clear v

"But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God."  Ruth 1:16 When I paint horses that are 'together'... I am always reminded of the ties in Ruth to her mother-in-laws family.  It also reminds me I was 11 and Terry was 13 when we met.  I will follow you.... and I still am, or is he following me?  Well, I know we both are following God.  BE OF FAITH Just a short thought after painting today... sometimes my 'abstract' pieces remind me so much of our lives today... Esp in the past four years. We have seen times of trouble and worry but not like they are today. I remain solid not to stand on a soap box

I loved the home we lived in there. Plenty of room and large ones too... on two acres with a creek on the back. This is where I put down my brushes and Impressionism and took up a knife with my buttery oil paints. Again you see lots of red with orange and yellow. Contrast built with accents of blue and green and purple. Opposites on the color wheel.     It was
