Progress on the Journey 28 x 42 inches Oil on Canvas The paint continues on this tall horse painting. Layers and shades of blue create this magnificent horse charging off the canvas. It is still in progress but it is available.    ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2012  Contact me for your own commissioned painting or to purchase this piece: Laurie      Relationships Terry is always leery when I turn off his television at night and want to talk. Immediately he feels he has done something wrong.  How did we get here? Does not seem like a healthy reaction, especially when I am not frowning. I have known him for 48 years of my life. I know him pretty well. How can you improve your current relationship?  I know as we talked last night I literally prayed before responding to some touchy things we were discussing.  I stayed quiet and sought oneness with the Father before replying. I did not want to speak out of emotions and not from my heart

"Visions" Equine Horse Art Painting by Laurie Pace

"Visions" 18 x 24 x 2 inches Acrylic on Canvas Contact me to purchase: Laurie © Laurie Justus Pace Graphics One Design 2009 " Moses was one hundred twenty years old when he died; his sight was unimpaired and his vigor had not abated ." Deuteronomy 34:7 The Painting: I still have to finish up the eyes a bit...but I am almost finished. This is a good six layers of paint of more and three days of painting on and off. Even though it is small, it is well worked over. Staying with Acrylics for some reason, I am exploring the depth of what I can do with them. I think today I will play with watercolor layers and acrylic. The Thought: IT'S FRIDAY! Do you get energized on Friday or relaxed for the weekend? For our family it is the middle of the week because of Terry's Airline schedule and work. Our weekend is not until Mon/Tues. It seems for most 9-5 work people, or stay at home moms, there is a Friday sense of relief or anticipation of the weekend.
SNOWFALL Contemporary Art Horse Palette Knife Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 30 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas SOLD Contact me for Commission work: Laurie As I close out the year of 2008, the flashes in my mind recall the rapid decline of my dad with his Alzheimers; my mom with her health and three hospitalizations; the closing down and moving of my mom from her home of almost 40 years; the horrendous months of no gas or electricity in this house and constant construction all around me; the free fall of the stock market and our economy; my youngest son's two bad motorcycle accidents within one week; etc. Then I smile with the joy balanced out by my daughter's pregnancy; my gallery shows in New York, Jackson Hole, Dallas and Marble Falls; an increase of sales of my art work; my mother's health improving; finding a new relationship with my older brother; watching our oldest friend be elected Sheriff of Franklin County; having electricity and gas working again in the house;
WILD WILLIE Contemporary Art Wild Horse Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 16 x 20 inches Acrylic Overlays SOLD! THANKS SO MUCH! Today is a day to travel and visit friends and celebrate my birthday. We are off to Mt Vernon! So my blog is only a short note to remind you to give thanks. I am writing this at 6 this morning. Paul Fletcher is sheriff of Franklin County. YEAH!!!! He is who we are going to visit today. I spent twenty minutes online this morning trying to see who won the sheriff race there and since it is a small tiny place in Texas, this was not easy! ALSO thank you for my early morning wake up birthday song my dear friend up north! This is one of the FEW blogs I am doing ahead because we are leaving so early in the morning and I have no knowledge of election results or anything else. Our good friend is running for sheriff in his county and I do not even know how he is doing. What ever is now is part of a larger plan for God. TRUST and know all is well. I look forward to blog
A HERD IN SPRING Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches SOLD ON DAILY PAINTERS- THank you! Contact me for pricing: Laurie Egads I forgot to blog this morning. I was so busy when I hit the computer. I was behind before I started. Not much sleep last night as we worked in the yard till dark and my allergies were so bad I could not breath to sleep. Still that way this morning too. Have you ever worried about your children or your elderly parents? We continue to seek control of situations that we simply cannot control. Such as it was when Jesus was arrested and the disciples were in a panic despite the confidence of Jesus knowing his path was predetermined by the Father. I realized recently only Jesus can save those I worry about that cannot seem to get their lives together. I cannot save them. I realized only our Father can save and care for my parents through his provisions to them by our help and love as their children. I cannot control anything. I can only walk
WINTER LIGHT Horse Oil Painting By Laurie Justus Pace 24 X 36 inches of color! Contact me for pricing: Laurie There is always that one winter day that the sunlight seems brighter and warmth begins to creep into the air, just slightly in the mid-afternoon hours. That is what this painting was trying to capture...that crystallized moment of warmth and coolness together. Our lives are like that too. In those times when it is cold and dark....we focus on a beam of light to guide us back into the sunlight. For many living in the dark for a long time, they grow accustomed to their dark environment. When that beam of light hits into their lives, they often turn away because the truth of the light casting open the reality around them hurts. First reaction is to turn away and close their eyes. They do not want to face what it is there. It is so much easier to hide from it in the dark. They turn from the light of the Lord and the warmth of his love. I wish I knew the answer, if I did I wo
