Day 4 Sunflower Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Sunflower  Not sure of the size, I forgot to measure it but I think it is 5 x 7  and it is oil on watercolor paper.   Okay, this one really dates back to 1999.  This is for the sunflower lover to realize the joy of the sun every day in their life.  Winner announce tomorrow. Do you serve anyone in your life?  If you are a mom or a wife, I am betting you do. If you are a husband, I am betting you do. We are all called to serve each other.  What would it take for you to serve the Lord? How could you do it inside your comfort zone? How could you climb out of your safe zone and serve God as a 'hand maiden' would? Mary was a believer. If there was a hesitation in her mind, it did not last long. She served God. She trusted God. I do not like the phrase Blind Faith... I like it better to think of it as Open Faith. And Mary said, “Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unt

Pictures I do have are of my parents home for over 40 years. The Hymn, For the Beauty of the Earth" was one of my Dad's favorite to sing when I would play it on the piano for him.  The gusto in which he sang rings clearly in my heart as I sit and see the beauty bursting forth around me. The earth enriches our lives and we are to be good stewards of the lands around us. The earth has supported our needs for centuries and we in turn must nurture the earth with love and support to care for what we have.

Laurie     © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2011 My Blog My Website   Giclees on Canvas, Prints and Cards The snow continued yesterday. Terry and I took Paddy out for about a mile walk and my fingers were frozen despite my gloves.  Even my feet were a bit cold.  The day was spent doing washing and cleaning up wet floors between Terry and the dog.  BUT all the wash is done and clean sheets were on the bed last night.  We even added the heated mattress pad under the sheets. Stacey bought it for me three years ago when I had the flu and I was home alone with high fever, chills and NO HEAT in the house.  We had electrical power but our gas heat was out.  We have not used it since but last night we took a vote and it was 2 to nothing to put it on today. Sheriff Paul called last night to see if we were all right and if needed anything. That was sweet. We did no

Despite a night of rest, I am still worn out.  I served in all capacities yesterday and I am tuckered.  The words above served me yesterday and I pray they will serve you today.  Don't loose your temper with anyone today. It is a hardback book with pictures from the start to the finish of the painting as it is created.  Most collectors love the books as much as their paintings! I guess we are all collectors in some way or another.  Some folks collect coins; some collect books; some collect stamps.... and we could list things forever.  What makes collecting so important?  What do we seem to value in collecting things?  I am thankful for people who collect art. With out those collectors I would be doing something else. Terry says having your 'stuff' around you is a comforting thing.  As

Laurie     © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 The Painting: I posted this earlier this month. The internet has been down here...so this is late being posted today.  The Thought:    Don't Worry, be Happy. I sung that song a bit yesterday when the internet crashed. We have not had good phone lines in three weeks and to lose it too was a bit disrupting.  Finally this morning People's (People's telephone) arrived and 30 minutes later found the two cramped wires causing the issues. YEAH.  Hopefully we are up and running. I lost about an hour yesterday in worry and I should know better, don't worry, be happy.  Terry took us into town for an ice cream and that turned it all around.  Then, remember we just got TV back, I was able to watch Brothers and Sisters last night... Don't w

It has set me off to explore another approach to the canvas.  I also tried it with a few horse pieces as well.  Watch for them as I finish them up this week.  The Thought:  Jill, a friend for the past few years from blogging made a comment about doctors, prescriptions and life in general in her email to me.  She mentioned she tells her doc to keep it quick and there is only so much money available for the visit.  I had just found out that a basic visit for my doc was $94, and then it escalates with everything you mention in the visit all the way up to $249. Of course with every "mention" there are tests that must be run and with every test, return visits with another basic $94 charge plus anything extra you visit about.    Jill laughingly wrote that her doctor wrote

Laurie © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 The Painting : Since we spent yesterday at the Tink's house and I heard my daughter sing "you are my Sunshine" 100 plus times...I had to post sunflowers for the second of January. Look below and see if you don't agree. Here is our Tink in her COZY COUPE: The Thought:   The new year brings new thoughts and new adventures ...but yet the old year still has things happening around you and in your life. While you eagerly anticipate the joy of the new this day, you probably have much of the old tugging away at you. Have you ever gotten yourself into something while really "heartfully" trying to help someone?   I am there and have hit the wall.  Examining the situation I know I can only trust God is going to see me through it because I don't have the desire or strength to go the journey.

'Texas Sunflower' 10 x 10 inches Oil on Canvas SOLD Contact me for flowers: Laurie © Laurie Justus Pace Graphics One Design 2005 The Painting : This is an old painting, but one I pulled from Archive to do a larger version of for this next week. I love the play of colors and movement of the brush. This was a small painting and the new one will be quite large...perhaps 30 x 30 in size. The Thought : The hustle is on for Terry to finish the bath as the appraiser is due on Wednesday morning. My responsibility will be making sure the rest of the house literally sparkles and I have a list of ALL the updates we have done. I may have to do a spreadsheet and a slide show....before and after for him. Hummm Before and After. Gives thought to many situations in life, like what was your life before you turned 21 compared to life after 21. OR, what was life like before children compared to after children? What was life before you knew and acknowledged the Father compared to wal
FACING THE SUN Sunflower Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 11 x 14 on Linen Panel SOLD ON DAILY PAINTERS THANK YOU Short blog for sure this morning! Can you tell me difference between Happiness and Joy? Happiness seems to be the thing we search for our entire lives. My grandmother was the one that told me it came from within and especially when you do for others. I remember as a young teenager sitting with her in my room when she shared this with me. Everything seems so traumatic at that age...so I thought. It is 100 fold at this age. What I have discovered at this age is that Joy is a far deeper richer feeling than happiness. Joy can be felt even in the darkest moment when you are buried in the deepest of problems. Happiness is temporary because it is based on external circumstance, but Joy... Joy my friend, is based on God's presence with in each of us. Contentment is found with in you and it is there but you are usually too busy chasing happiness to know Joy is with in y
