Ephesians 4:2 HURRY This time of year finds everyone in a hurry. The days feel shorter, the lists longer, and patience thinner than we’d like to admit. From an artist’s perspective, I notice how quickly we move past one another without really seeing what’s in front of us. We rush to judgment just as easily as we rush through our errands. The mother struggling to manage three children climbing out of a shopping cart while balancing a newborn in a carrier becomes a moment of irritation instead of a moment of empathy. We ask ourselves why the children won’t listen, without considering how full her hands—and her heart—might already be. What about the elderly man at the checkout, slowly unloading his basket, each movement careful and deliberate. In our hurry, ...
