Even in some pretty dark moments in life, my mind continued to problems solve.  While that sounds good, the better answer is prayer. Taking t

They were red, and orange and red, and red and orange and yellow, like the ember in a nursery fire of a winter's evening. I remember them.” ― Neil Gaiman, Coraline My lighting in the studio is bad. Terry has fixed it since this was taken.  But I think you can see where this painting is headed.  It is full of joy and bursting with colors... the colors of embers in a fire.  This is the feeling of color and celebration I want. Not the fire but the depth of those brilliant colors in a field of bl

Not Striving to Impress... Tulip Painting in Progress Laurie Pace

It doesn’t struggle to be different than a rose. It doesn’t have to. It is different. And there’s room in the garden for every flower. You didn’t have to struggle to make your face different than anyone else’s on earth. It just is. You are unique because you were created that way. Look at little children in kindergarten. They’re all different without trying to be. As long as they’re unselfconsciously being themselves, they can’t help but shine. It’s only later, when children are taught to compete, to strive to be better

It's a fresh rain, a whispered promise, a cloudless sky, the perfect punctuation mark at the end of a sentence. And it's the only thing in the world keeping me afloat.” ― Tahereh Mafi, Unravel M I know with the hot summer days of August that last week was sheer relief giving me hope of cooler September nights at least. Days will still be hot, but if it cools off at night, there is hope of fall ahead.  I do not like to rush the seasons as they are rushing by quickly righ

Cavafy August sailing...sometimes fun with a strong southern wind.  Usually very warm so you want to sail at sunrise or sunset. I like sunrise. Terry gets the boat ready just before the sun breaks the horizon and we take off on the catamaran as the wind picks up with the sunrise.  Those are special mornings.   I pray whatever place you must "Sail" this day that there are good winds and lots of adventure.  There the LORD will be our Mighty One. It will be l

This painting was done back in 2007.  I actually love all the colors and the strength of the presence of the horse.  It is in a private collection.  When I come across these older pieces I am often inspired to try something similar.  Have to see where that goes today! A new challenge, a new mountain to climb... are you on your way? I hope you are climbing a new mountain to take on a new view in life

The River Moving in You... horse paintings by Laurie Pace

It has not officially rained here in almost two months.   SO I chose this painting to share...which speaks to me of red hot skies and trying to cool in the water that is almost like hot bath water.  Trying hard to esca
