There were not many people there. Today if you go on Sunday afternoon,  you could not stir them with a stick.  I had my canon camera with me and got some delightful shots of people being people.    My favorite photo I took that day was of an older woman carrying a basket with flowers in it. Looked like she bought them somewhere on the grounds or brought them in...

Do You Build Walls or Bridges? Landscape Painting Bridge by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© +Laurie Pace         Graphics One Design 2017 Sold  Oil on Canvas. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Follow me on Facebook           Sign up for my monthly studio newsletter. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “No one can construct for you the bridge upon which precisely you must cross the stream of life, no one but you yourself alone.” ― Friedrich Nietzsche I have a simple question this morning . . . do you build more walls or bridges in your life? Most people are not in the middle... they do one or the other.  It is a choice we all make if we form walls or barriers or if we build bridges to cross and meet others. While it is true, we all need our space and boundaries set in our lives, but do we need to erect a wall to...

Contemporary Abstract Landscape, The Other Side of the World, Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2012 The Other Side of the World 24 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas. SOLD I had fun doing two or three paintings in this style. It may be something to explore in 2013. This was painted in 2006 in the Spring.  I worried about the palm tree when I saw it weighted with the snow this month.  Why someone had planted it on this hillside has always been a puzzle to me . Sunday was the day we traveled into Dallas to join family and friends in the celebration of those we had lost this year as they 'continued on'. This continuation day is the day they died. Just like the caterpillar slowly transforms into the butterfly... just as we shed our earthly bodies and transform and continue on into the energy of Heaven to be with the Father. We lost several family members this year. Lady L's grandmother Emily continued on last summer and my Dad left us in January of this year. The Presbyterian Faith Hospice of Dallas has the release of the butterflies every ...

Blue Hills A Palette Knife Landscape by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Blue Hills Landscape still in progress by Texas Artist Laurie Pace 40 x 40 inches Oil on Canvas   sold I am at the waiting stage. I have painted, layered and triple layered the paint. Now it hangs in the studio for the period of review where I dab here and there working on things. I think the sky is going to change out colors... and I may pull some more reds and oranges through out. Stay tuned... ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2012 Contact me for your own commissioned painting or to purchase this piece: Laurie      Paths Chosen Are you the type that wants to drive down those small roads to see where they go? Terry shakes his head, but takes off at my plea for a new adventure.  We have discovered that is not always good, and sometimes it is just the opposite, you find things you would have missed in your lifetime.      Paths before us, clear cut or full of  obstacles, are bot...

Blue Hills progresses, Landscape Painting by A Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Blue Hills Progression from my Studio by Texas Artist Laurie Pace 40 x 40 inches Oil on Canvas Yesterday I laid in the mid layers of paint on this Blue Hills Landscape Painting. This is all pure oils with out any impastos. Drying will take some time with the greens I am using. They take longer to cure for some reason. I am heading back in to paint more today. ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2012  Contact me for your own commissioned painting or to purchase this piece: Laurie      Silence... is a state of consciousness containing peace.  Turning away from the chaos churning in our lives.  No TV, no music, no other voices, no noise... simple silence and with it comes peace. When was the last time you went there? Eyes closed or open, your heart knows the way with its steady beating. I always think of Skaitook Lake in Oklahoma just outside of Tulsa.  It was a long ago day and my first ride on Terr...

Blue Hills Palette Knife Landscape Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Blue Hills in progress, Landscape palette knife painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace 40 x 40 inches Oil on Canvas     There are four layers of color on the sky right now and three layers on the blue hills in the background. The line of trees in the distance has about six layers and I have not actually started the three trees that are blocked in yet. The back field has four layers of color and will get more today. I am working my way forward in the composition. I was excited by the tiny bit of reds in the back tree line peaking out and hope to discover more seasoning colors as I work today. ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2012  Contact me for your own commissioned painting or to purchase this piece: Laurie      Prosperity "For to all those who have, more will be given, and they will have an abundance." Landscape sketch Painting on Canvas by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Beginning Sketch Blue Hills Landscape Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace 40 x 40 inches Oil on Canvas   Sold  - Commission I will block in color in acrylic next and then begin my knife work. ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2012 Contact me for your own commissioned painting or to purchase this piece: Laurie      Monkey See Monkey Do When Bampa and I are visiting Lady L, the two of them, Bampa and Lady L are like monkeys.  TP loves to take her out on her "Park".  That is what she calls her swing set, the Park. He does stuff and she is right behind him imitating everything. She and Bampa are two of a kind when it comes to Monkey Business.  They are best friends always and the trust is that based on unconditional love.  When a child trusts an adult in their life so simply... that is an opposite reminder of how we do not seem to trust God so simply. We still want to control everyt...

Landscape 2 Painting by A Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Landscape 2 12 x 12 inches Acrylic on Canvas Ready to ship for Christmas...$135 includes shipping.  Contact me for your own commissioned painting or to purchase this piece: Laurie     ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011  The Colors of Christmas Traditionally most of you think of red and green and think Christmas. The holly and the ivy, right? Do you have all colors on your tree for lights or only white ones?  Do you thematically decorate your tree or is it full of family ornaments from past generations? The Colors of Christmas are just about as diverse as we are individually.  God is undeniably the greatest artist I know working with three dimensional creations. His palette lacks nothing in values and hues. If we all all part of His creation, just think how brightly we shine in our many reflective colors and personalities.  Life would be pretty boring if we all looked the same or acted the ...
