Waffles are rare indeed in our home but something I have been craving... so Terry wanted to make sure I got them in this year.  Little did I know when this boy/man kissed me in 1966 that we would be here today fifty years later at 2016.  Want to know one of the most special moments for me in our marriage?  We did not marry until 1991.  Both of us went different directions in our life and came back together

Stories always go on. They don't end on the last page, anymore than they begin on the first page.” ― Cornelia Funke, Inkspell I took a break in the wolf posting this week. This was Christmas day stopping by to see our two sick granddaughters.  Yes we stayed OUTSIDE the door. They were sick and so were their parents. We had done the big grand kids gathering the weekend before and played with them with their new gifts from us, but we had to stop by and see them. The youngest one cried and cried as we returned to the car. She was heart b

It's when you know you're licked before you begin, but you begin anyway and see it through no matter what.- Atticus Finch” ― Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird Sorry about the shiny head... lighting was not the best when I snapped this shot with my phone. Somewhere in the Christmas mess, my camera is buried not to be unearthed yet.  Maybe I should be cleaning house instead of painting...??? Predictable colors for this wolf... again not normal for me

Do you know yourself? Wolf Painting in Progress by Laurie Pace

In life you often make snap decisions.  Somet

You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson I am in the studio working this week. I am experimenting and trying new products and surfaces.  This may be a boring work week for you to see the same painting in steps, but for the week between Christmas and New Years, this is the best I can do. I am working on a birch mounted p

These make a merry christmas!”  ― John Greenleaf Whittier Christmas Blessings on this Christmas Eve Day.  I wish you joy and love on this incredible celebration of Christ's first coming. Be safe this Christmas Eve and know in your heart the love God has waiting for you. It is his most precious gift to us. Luke 2: 4-7 "So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house an

It is something that ranks at the top of our list.  So is love a feeling that can be controlled?  I am thinking it is a feeling that is responded to. If you love someone that love is unconditional and not con

The Winter of Discontent when I lost my hat Laurie Pace Texas Artist

Last Saturday we went from 74 degrees at noon to 19 that night... the temp from 12 to 2 went from the 74 to 41 and kept falling from there.  This has been the first cold snap and I pulled out my FAVORITE winter hat Terry bought me last year and I wore it and wore and wore it and had warm head and ears. It looked pretty good as well. He found it at Whole Foods last year.  They do not carry them this year... I lost my winter hat yesterday m
