Jonathan Swift Sailing.  Nothing seems greater than being on a sailboat and feeling the wind pushing you across the water. I miss our sailboats. I would love to surprise Terry with one this next year. It puts life back into perspective in so many ways. Praise for the singing, Praise for the morning, Praise for them springing fresh from the world."  Steven Curtis Chapman In mid June this painting will be in a show opening in New York at a gallery in Watkins Glen. I wish I had time to paint a few more sailboats as they are very calming to paint and to have hanging around the studio.  The song by Steven Curtis Chapman is one of my favorites of course learned at an early age in my teen years and a favorite in the sho

Happens to all of us.  Still not a big champion of yellow, but suddenly I am thinking muted reds, blues, greens and greys.  I believe my next sunset

I am learning to sail my own ship... Sailboat paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Living with anxiety is like living without the ability to live for yourself. I have lived this way most of my life... despite everything that I have done. The survival to push and succeed came from my parents. I started modeling at age 14... and did that through age 35.  Even with marriage, a husband and three children arriving, I studied art and finished my degree with a major in commercial art.  I worked

I could not stand it and I added some gold to the horizon and a peppering of reds and oranges. May your weekend be full of love.  Share the joy. Cloudy Sail, Contemporary Sailboat Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Cloudy Sailing 36 x 40  inches Oil on Canvas. SOLD Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Not my normal. WHY? Not enough color. Friend it is painted for wanted specific colors to match the room and it does do that. I felt like I was painting with my hands tied behind my back.  I do like it ...like it much better in person than in this picture. Sailboat leans with the wind on this cloudy day in this unusual sailboat painting. Terry had his corneal surgery last week, so my painting time is pretty limited. He has a two week of DO NOTHING but that two week of do nothing started with 48 hours on his back. That was not fun. We return to the doctor tomorrow to double check everything and one more time in about three more weeks. It takes four months before there could be stability in the eye they did surgery on.  God remains good...all the time bringing comfort to us. I read somewhere a quote on

Sunset Sailboat painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace, Palette knife painting

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Sunset 12 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas. SOLD  This is a larger version of a smaller painting. Always hard to do. The size of the knife really does not change so working on a large surface and trying to achieve the think strokes of paint can be challenging.  This sailboat painting will take over a month to six weeks to cure enough to be framed.  Wanted to share it though, as it was fun doing it.   And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.  Colossians 3:15 Laurie Pace A Texas Artist   My Blog          My Website          Giclees on Canvas, Prints and Cards    GALLERY LINKS Mirada Fine Art Denver CO ,   The Rare Gallery Jackson Hole WY   The White Dog Gallery Carbondale, CO. Contemporary Palette Knife Sailboat Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Golden Sunset Sail 32 x 48 inches Oil on Canvas. SOLD  It is at the hanging stage... hanging in the studio for me to watch. It is NOT done...but in hold while these layers dry for me to add final layering with the knife.  I am loving the energy and really give total thanks to God on this one... it has what I prayed it would have.  So in a few days or a week, I will post a final of this painting. Thanks for your patience. These large paintings are not overnight creations.  The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. Contemporary Palette Knife Sailboat Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Golden Sunset Sail 32 x 48 Inches Oil on Canvas. SOLD  You really can tell the difference between the sky and the water by this time. The boats remain still sketched in and the water is taking on movement with the wind.  Colors are strong against the golden sunset and tomorrow I will work on the boats.  The friends I am painting for did NOT want to see the progress shots.  They trust my work and know I am led by His Spirit as I work and I have to trust simply that if I give myself and this painting to Him that it will indeed be of great spirit as I finish it. Probably two days left to paint and then it will hang around the studio while I watch it.    Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.  Micah 7:8 Laurie Pace A Texas Artist Pace Studio  Graphics One Design My Blog
