Layers of color and overlays with contrast and surprise dynamics weave together this entire painting over a black background, keeping part of the "realism",  while loosing to abstract shapes throughout. It is stunning and a perfect gift size and only $125.00 This Blog took a turn to share what I prayed for today, for my adult children and all the grandchildren.  A group of art friends has been discussing the lack of the presence of faith in the lives of many Americans. It is important to live our faith every day so it  becomes a part of our working mind and our lives.  I posted this on Facebook This morning to close friends which included my family. " I am praying for all three of my children, and my Mama too . Praying for all my grandchildr

'Triple Red' Summer Flowers Oil Painting by Laurie Pace

'Triple Red' 18 x 27 inches Oil on Canvas SOLD Contact me to purchase: Laurie © Laurie Justus Pace   Graphics One Design   2009 The Painting : It was a red day and I immersed myself in values of red highlighting with rich oranges and soft yellows.  A complimentary background of green pops these summer beauties right off the canvas. The Thought :   Did you ever wake up in the morning NOT wanting to do what was on the agenda for the day?   Sometimes we want to break free of the monotony or the constant demands on our schedules and just be free. What is being free?   Free to skip out on premade plans and obligations? Free to walk away from responsibility? Free to lay in bed and read  a book?  Each of us has our own vision of freedom.  Unfortunately in our world it is not easy to find freedom.  We have cornered ourselves and covered up our freedom with our lifestyles.  We did it to ourselves, no one else did. Today would be the day to embrace the idea of spi

'Copper Lady' Equine Horse Art by Laurie Pace

'Copper Lady' 30 x 30 inches Acrylic on Canvas COMMISSION SOLD Contact me for commission work: Laurie © Laurie Justus Pace Graphics One Design 2009 The Painting : A collector bought a smaller painting from me, the Red Arabian but realized it was not big enough for her home...hence we had to do something larger. She gave me her house colors and copper was important and voila, Copper Lady. The Thought : Some days it makes more sense to climb back in bed and hide under the covers. Some days I ask myself why I even climbed out in the first place. I often wonder about adulthood and all the responsibilities attached to it. You think as you grow older you grow wiser and you recognize when to say no and step away from things. You want freedom from so much responsibility. You remember though that Jesus did not step away from what was ahead of Him. He didn't stop and ask himself, "why did you even get up this morning." All around us in our lives are fear, a

"Busy Nation Under God" Contemporary Flag Oil Painting by Laurie Pace

Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery ." Galatians 5:1 The Painting : Done in 2006 when Morgan was doing his Flag Series a collector asked for a "Peter Max" type flag and this piece was created. Morgan does 99 percent of the flags here. They are collected around the world. His most sought after had the pledge of allegiance on them. The Thought: It is always hard on the blog to pin point the exact days. This is read by many of you on Saturday if you come directly to the blog. For others it is mailed out to be received for Sunday. So I chose to post the flag knowing that the majority of you would get this flag on the fourth of July, Saturday... for those ge
IN FLIGHT Contemporary Greyhound Dog Art Oil Painting SOLD Commission 15 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas Contact me for Commission work: Laurie "Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom." 2 Corinthians 3:17 In the spirit of the painting I wanted to stir my thoughts to the absolute freedom that you felt the day school let out for the summer. Do you remember back then? Three months off of no homework, tests, getting up at 7 am to be a school by 8 am. I do not imagine you look forward to prayer that way do you? Maybe we should... I don't but these thoughts are making me climb out of my box again. Our minds are such powerful tools. We can accomplish so much active imagination...and are free to express ourselves in so many ways through our gifts. Now think about the freedom to pray... to honor Him as the Father of all creation and mankind, and then to be excited to share with Him your day. Just as you do your spouse, your best friend, y
