Over the days it went from two horses to one main horse and then back to two horses and another day to this final arrival. The spirit of the paint and God’s hand in each piece allows the natural fall of colors and shapes to form what is there.  Representational Abstract at its best!  TOGETHER! 24 x 24 and framed to hang. 😍  Life Today  😉 I have to be honest with you. The past two nights have been different. One night I was up and down and only grabbed about four hours of sleep...then last night... I was asleep by 9:30 and woke up at 4 this morning. I REALLY wish I had gone back to sleep but I was awake.  Wha

A Piece of the Whole, Painting and more by Laurie Pace

It harms us, but it's how we glue those fractures back together that make us stronger.” Carrie Jones, Entice PAINTING 🖌 This is a peak into a painting... a small part of the whole. It stand alone even when it has not been completed. The eyes of a woman and the beginnings of her nose and mouth. She was part of a whole painting, which has been repurposed, but I could not do away with her face on the new painting. Will try to remember to post it again tomorrow as I know I might have posted it maybe a few months ago. Portraits, Women, Eyes tell all...  MONDAY PLAY 🖌 The day started at four this morning when I woke up way to early!  I listened to classical music, then watched some news and heard hubby up in the kitchen.

The Good People- Contemporary Figurative Painting by Laurie Pace celebrating colors!

So let them go, let go of them. I tie no weights to my ankles.” C. Joybell C. The Painting 🖌 The Good People is the very last one I will paint in this series. I believe I have maybe 8 or 9 variations out there in different sizes, all inspired once again by Jack Johnson and the song, "Where did all the good people go?"  Using the abstract pull of my palette knife in downward strokes, the contemporary painting celebrates color representing the people. This palette pull of color is something seen in my horse paintings dating back to fall 2006. Contemporary Paintings of action by knife infused with co

Shooting Stars in Texas Skies, Jack Johnson, Banana Pancakes and more! Texas Artist Laurie Pace

You will see them, make your wish and see them disappear.” Nazhiar Ozar The painting above is available. It is one from a few years ago and it is at The La Jolla Gallery in California. Painted to the tunes of Jack Johnson, inspiration always flows with his music. "Shooting Star is 32 x 48 inches of thick knifed paint and startling colors. It tells a story of life on the open range in Texas and the vivid evening sky, filled with massive constellations and shooting stars.  I was listening to Banana Pancakes as I finished up that evening. Terry was actually making me Banana Pancakes and as I left the studio and walked across the upper balcony of our home, I caught a glimpse of a shooting star across the floor to ceiling window

Color After Noon. Texas delights in blooms throughout the summer months with Artist Laurie Pace

Most people exist, that is all.” Oscar Wilde The dog days of summer in Texas.  Temps are hitting 100 plus but thoughts of September are in the air. I even ordered two new PACT shirts with long sleeves with light weight cotton. Pact makes up 55 -65 percent of my wardrobe. I have worn their clothes for the past 25 years. They are made in India by a woman owned company. Best return policy I have ever seen, and the best quality of anything in my closet.  Their socks are so soft and last for years....  So much of clothing, but it is important in the studio when I work, that I am comfortable and 'washable'!  This particular painting was in progress over the past year and I finally dug it out and finished it.  The paint

Twelve Plus One Roses is a florist dozen! Flower Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

M. Montgomery  Anne of the Islands Summer has hit the hot days. My miniature roses are still blooming... and I was able to paint some today!  I finished up this one as well as three others.  Sometimes Paintings are in the HOLDING stage ... and it is always nice to return to find their true heart. Terry plants roses for me. This year I have four pots of miniatures and I almost feel they have a stronger scent than some of my bigger roses. Do you grow roses? Stop by my Facebook Page  and leave a comment about your blooms!  We were blessed with cooler temps today and RAIN!  Only two more weeks of August... and we head into the fall. I cannot wait!  My favorite time of ye

California Dreaming Red Poppies by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2021 California Dreaming  by Laurie Pace - Sold.  Shop Available Artwork.   Sign up for my quarterly newsletter and painting sales. California Dreaming... on a winters day.  With the temps in the 100's, I would be California Dreaming on a hot Texas summer day! These are hot red poppies done in a pop art type fashion with color steaming from the canvas!  I have been thinking about painting flowers this next week, and posting this older painting made me hungry to do it!  Poppies are one flower I have never planted.  Might be too hot in Texas.  We have hydrangeas, iris, zinnia, marigolds, roses, dahlias, and more!  Right now only the marigolds are hanging in the heat but fading rapidly.  On another side, I will share that I just finished a few weeks of study in Hebrews and have started in Romans.  Not using any study guide... just reading and cross referencing verses. Some nights it has brought me to tears, other nig

Like many Americans, we are not watching news anymore. I did manage to catch the weather for the next week and it is going to feel like 105-108 every day.  Is it hot where you are? The week ahead is going to start early on Monday at 7 am with an appt with a client on a website build.  I spent yesterday afternoon (after cleaning the house) cleaning the studio and rearranging canvas and finishing up the Bull and Bear painting I have been working on for the past three weeks.  Also finished up Lila which you saw yesterday after I finished it and blogged.  Next week, the brushes and the knives come out and paint will be involved.  I believe there will be horses, flowers,  maybe a bird or a wolf.   I have been thinking lightly about something. I am mulling it over on how it would look or work.  I h
