Longhorn Painting, New Pastures by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2012 New Pastures Longhorn 30 x 40 Oil on Canvas. Available at Dutch Art in Dallas Texas. Contact Pam Massar Here.  I revisited the colors on this magnificent longhorn and will be delivering it to Dutch Art in the next week. It would make a fabulous gift for someone special that is a Texas Longhorn fan.  This is the perfect Longhorn painting! Words of my heart... Sometimes it is so easy to say 'I am a believer'... but how easy is it to actually be one?  It is hard work. It takes sacrifice and giving of yourself to help others. It is not just sitting at home reading the bible...but it is working and striving to be the best you can be in His eyes. Striving to please Him. Time to renovate.   Click here to read more . This is the beginning sketch. The canvas has been surfaced with transparent raw siena. Using Charcoal, Laurie Sketches the longhorn across the canvas. Tomorrow the paint will begin to pull across the surface. From Words of my Heart “Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.”  John 3:20-21 Yesterday was a welcome day of rain. All day slow rain.  I have not checked the rain gauge, but I am sure we saw at least an inch.  We have vegetables that were starting to turn in the refrigerator so I decided to make up a batch of veggie soup.  We feas

Big Tree Longhorn One by Texas Artist Laurie Pace 40 x 40 Oil on Canvas sold I have continued on painting beyond this but even this changed around the eyes and the coloring pulled in the head area. He provides our daily bread.  We struggle with nutrition and weight, and we keep missing the picture. Do you eat to live or live to eat? The emptiness inside of you cannot be filled with ice cream and cookies, OR with margaritas or a cold beer. The stress inside of you cannot be quieted with candy bars or wine coolers. Get more basic.  Return to Him to fill the emptiness and allow Him to handle the stress.  Live to serve.  Live to praise.  Live to share His glory.

Sketches on Canvas Longhorn Land One 40 x 40 inches Oil    As I am waiting to work on the sky of the Blue Hills, I sketched out the next palette knife longhorn painting that is on a 40 x 40 canvas. Rupen of Canvasplace.com hand builds my canvas and allows me to choose higher grade canvas that is smooth for my knife to work the surface easier.  Rupen has been building my canvas since 2006.   ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2012  Contact me for your own commissioned painting or to purchase this piece: Laurie      Tender of heart seems to escape the thought of many these days. Driving into Dallas and back home yesterday more than proved that to me with the questionable driving skills and determination of many on the road. Our new Passion Vine is blooming! When you set the mood of your classroom, it always works best to keep it simple.   The KISS method was one my husband told me was used by all the mechanics at American Airlines. They referred to the acronym as Keep It Simple Stupid...but I had to adjust that for the classroom to Keep It Simply Soft. My classrooms were home away from home for these children as they spent more time with me during their waking hours than they did with anyone else.   I wanted that

More Longhorn Sketches by Texas Artist Laurie Pace  This is another sketch for the square paintings. It is one of the only ways I could sketch to get longhorns on a square canvas and that was to angle them. ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2012 Contact me for your own commissioned painting or to purchase this piece: Laurie      Shared Moments The treasured moments of friends is such a blessing.  I promised updated photos with Jan and Arlo from this weekend and you are are getting just that!  We spent a wonderful time with them catching up on old times and making new memories.  Lady L decided Arlo was her other Grandpa and of course with Jan being my 'sis' Lady L decided she was 'grandma' as well.  It has been two years since I sat face to face with Jan and I wanted to cry when they pulled in the driveway. I finally could look into her eyes and feel the warmth of her hug in person. My Sister of the Heart. Jan and Laurie Spring

Progress Land of the Longhorns, Longhorn Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Progression Texas Land of the Longhorns Preparing the way for this painting seems timely with preparation of Advent for the birth of Jesus. This is the second, third and fourth layer of oils on top of the beginning acrylic layer of Indian yellows.  Wait as it develops and you will watch the building of layers over time creating a unique painting unlike any other in my Longhorn Series. Each is different with layerings and colors. 35 x 53 inches Oil on Canvas   ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2011   Contact me for your own commissioned painting: Laurie      Anticipation - Preparing the Heart In this second week of advent we begin to really anticipate the coming of the Christ Child. No matter what messes remain in our lives, it is time to look above to Him to be set free. If you still remain head down concentrating on things in the worldly existence, this week it is time to lift your face to God's light. It is shining all around you, but y

Sometimes I think I am a screw up. Sometimes I think I am undeserving.  I could go on but will stop there.  We are all susceptible to thoughts like this. We are human. We are able to go negative pretty quick on ourselves.  Our feelings get hurt and we get frustrated. We allow this to happen. We bring it on ourselves and we use it to validate our feelings at that time.  It is simply not true.  Keep yourself focused on the beauty God has placed in your from your moment of con

The Thought:    Chameleons are interesting animals.   From an artist standpoint they are ever changing as they match up to their environment.      Robert Fritz once said, " One of the most importnat results you can bring into the world is the you that you really want to be ."     For me it was an artist . I always  believed I was an artist. My entire life I have not swayed from this gift or belief.  I have explored and participated in many different areas of art from teaching, to commercial art, to self indulgence in making my
LONGHORN SUMMER SOLD Monday...WE ARE PACKING TODAY and Morgan is moving in for the next week. He is the best house sitter with the dogs. Our dogs are not the friendliest dogs to strangers. We taught them well on stranger danger. In my head I am compiling one thousand things to be done today. The other side of my brain is in prayer saying, GIVE IT TO GOD. One thing at a time and we will get to where we are suppose to be. Yesterday I spent the day in the studio tying up last ends and cleaning up. Still have to mop the floors. I have wash going, already cleaned out the pantry for traveling food...we are heading to Whole Foods for last minute travel things and water and then we may take on the washing of the dogs. They are pretty dirty and I could not get them in at the groomer. I do not know if I will be able to blog every day when we are on the road. Most places do have internet but if it takes any thinking other than turning on the computer I struggle. In fact I need to add to the
