'White Peonies Blue Vase' Palette Knife Flower Floral Oil Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'White Peonies Blue Vase' 9 x 12 inches  Oil on Canvas Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie     © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 The Painting: Bright colors were on my palette this morning as I began to pile the paint.  Blue vases always remind me of my dad. The Thought:  Sometimes we are so close to something we cannot even see it or see where we are.  How can you possibly move forward to new blessing in your life if you are so focused on what is there that you cannot give value to new blessings already sitting in front of you.  That is when it is time to turn loose of what you are holding onto so tightly.  You cannot receive what else God has to give you if you can't let go of what you think is so important.  Trusting in Him and His power to prosper you and move you forward. Prosper does not necessarily mean money... it means to make steady progress and thrive.  Are you doing that in yo...

Pink Peonies in a Crystal Vase ~ Flower Oil Painting by Laurie Pace

18 x 24 inches Oil on Canvas Palette Knife Painting Contact me to purchase: Laurie ©Laurie Pace Graphics One Design " The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom and whatever else you get, get insight ." Proverbs 4:7 A Painting A Day: This is the third in my light series of flowers. The beginnings of each of these are a study in values and light done in off shades of acrylic paint, totally different than final hues. This allows me to study the painting as I begin to pull in the oils by palette knife. First layer is a charcoal sketch blocking in the composition. Second layer is acrylic in blue, black, orange and white. Third, the final layer is oil pulled with the palette knife. My Thought for the Day: Okay, as you read this message this morning ...STOP. Stop and think about why you are here... here on this earth. Here with this family and friends... what is the true purpose and meaning of your life? You are made up of years of daily experiences that have molded you in...
PINK PEONY ~ Flower Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 8 x 10 Oil on Linen Panel Contact me to Purchase. Laurie Saturday early finds me finishing up this peony to post on Daily Painters. I really enjoyed painting this one and will probably do quite a few this size right now. This is a smaller format for me and really an adjustment to painting small. I am accustomed to turning on my Chris Tomlin Christian Music and rocking with my palette knife on huge canvas....This was painted to Antje Duvekot. She is one of my links to the right and absolutely one of my favorite female singers to paint to. Her song about Alzheimer makes me weep while I paint. My dad has alzheimers. Yesterday we walked UP the huge hill we live at the bottom of! We meet so many new neighbors. Gayle lives at the top of the hill with her husband and children. There must have been 8 children playing in the yard. Truly wonderful! We walked about a mile and a half circling the local elementary school. On the way we...
Mini Peonies ~ Flowers in Art by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 18 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contemporary Art for the Home SOLD This is a small version of a larger painting I did this summer. I had to do a commission piece similar and I did this as a warm up to get into the right rhythm for the curls! Rhythm seems to be the key word here. Last night I woke to a rumble vibration deep in the earth. I have never felt anything like it before. At first I thought it was a train on the nearby track rumbling, but it was not. This was deeper in the earth and I could feel it just like you would a deep bass note taking over the foundation, the floor, the furniture etc. It ended and I began to relax and it hit again. I knew then I was not dreaming. I have NO idea what it was. I asked Terry this morning if it could have been the impact testing they do with all the gas wells out here in the country...he was not sure, but I know that the sound waves were strong and relentless. Life seems to be th...
Peonies Popping 30 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day The painting above I finished this morning. It is thick paint and will take weeks to dry, but I had fun rejoicing in the music and the day as I painted and it definitely shows that! I have had such warm wonderful conversations with so many of you that read my blog and I have never met you in person. I thank all of you that write me about the different paintings enabling me to sell directly from this blog. THANK YOU!!! It is Saturday. It started with rushing Annie to the vet...she had torn stitches in one of her larger incisions. Thanks goodness the vet was open and the race had not started at the Texas Motor Speedway or I would be stuck away from our house. Not sure how Terry will get home this afternoon. He arrives usually around four, well the gates open at Four at the TMS....and the roads will be JAMMED. Annie is doing great. Stacey went with me because I still cannot use my left arm with my injured rotator cuff. ...
