PINK BEAUTIES ~ Flowers by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contact me if you like it! Good pricing available! Laurie Well we were up late last night...it was the night before CHILI PARTY...which is tonight. Terry was cutting and preparing until way after eleven...despite the fact we had to be up at five for him to leave for work. At our house this is a serious venture and Terry prepares two or three pots of Chili. He also makes me a small pot with out hot peppers in it! This is an annual event and usually the week after Christmas, but the house was only so so and I had not had time to invite folks...so I put it off till tonight. I figure it is the 11th day of Christmas, it still works! Everyone coming will bring White Elephant Gifts to have the numbered gift exchange where you can steal gifts from each other. I hope there are no orange toilet seats this year. Tomorrow I will post more photos of inside the house as Morgan has been working even more
Flower Trail ~ Impressionistic Landscape by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inch, Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas SOLD Laurie Pictures tomorrow of the house. I have a raging cold and can't decide which part of my body hurts more. I have two days to get well before company arrives for Christmas. My son has busted his hands and body trying to complete all the work here at the house. If and when we sell, he definitely deserves part of the money made on the house. He has been unswerving and totally focused every day...8 days a week. He does his substitute training for Northwest ISD on Tuesday and we are praying a full time teaching position will follow. Pray with me for this please. The house. Well yesterday Ron plastered the walls in the bathroom where it took us literally three days to get the paper off the walls. Morgan used JASCO and removed turquoise paint from the buffet and we found all sorts of neat designs in colored tiles. I have to figure out what color to paint the cabinets.
CHILD IN GARDEN ~ Impressionism by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 18 inches Oil on Canvas Well I struggled this morning to post this to a second blog I am apart of and somehow my sweet painting of this child kept attaching and blending with a pop art pair of breasts with red hair. After five attempts I gave up. Sort of like sleeping last night. Terry and I worked late and had a late dinner in Ponder. We came home and watched a movie and then turned off the TV to sleep. I was praying and meditating just falling off to sleep and the trains began piling through the city. For almost two straight hours there was no going to sleep. The whistles were none stop. I feel asleep about two and slept till six this morning, so I will drag all day. This painting was a joy to paint and explore the face of the child and the light on the dress. I hope you enjoy it! Today I will have to really concentrate on finding joy in the day to stay awake. I wish you the joy and light of the Lord in your day too! Sh
Mini Peonies ~ Flowers in Art by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 18 inches Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contemporary Art for the Home SOLD This is a small version of a larger painting I did this summer. I had to do a commission piece similar and I did this as a warm up to get into the right rhythm for the curls! Rhythm seems to be the key word here. Last night I woke to a rumble vibration deep in the earth. I have never felt anything like it before. At first I thought it was a train on the nearby track rumbling, but it was not. This was deeper in the earth and I could feel it just like you would a deep bass note taking over the foundation, the floor, the furniture etc. It ended and I began to relax and it hit again. I knew then I was not dreaming. I have NO idea what it was. I asked Terry this morning if it could have been the impact testing they do with all the gas wells out here in the country...he was not sure, but I know that the sound waves were strong and relentless. Life seems to be th
FEEDING THE DUCK, Child, Garden, Landscape Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 22 x 28 inches Oil on Canvas Contemporary Modern Art inspired by the Art of God Monday Rain....Yahoo! Today it is back to the auto place with my car and we are late so this short! I am preparing things for the show in Dallas...but this is a pre-paint on a smaller canvas of what I am doing on the larger one for the show. This is for sale if it appeals to you, drop me a note! The one at the show will be 24 x 36 in size and this is 22 x 28. The price of the show piece will be somewhere between $859-1250. This one, make me an offer...it is a pre-paint! I have been beating myself up lately on the verge of a pity party and have to reground myself in my thoughts. NO OBSTACLE is larger than my faith. Did you ever stop and think about that? We often relate obstacles to our energy and our strength before thinking about our faith. Mom and I spoke about this on the phone last night late. I pondered it quite a
IN HER GARDEN 18 x 27 inches Oil on Canvas A Painting a Day The day marks on the calendar as Tuesday. Yesterday I was busy with the New York Gallery sorting what was coming and going. This is a beautiful painting that is there at the gallery that is now listed in my store on eBay. Click here. It is offered at a tremendous price for the quality of the painting! Enjoy! Today Terry has his MRI series...two on his back. I am moaning this morning, have tingles and numbness in my upper left shoulder and my neck is worse on that side too, so something is still not right. My MRI is on Thursday. Despite it all Terry and I are filled with Joy that we are alive! Grace, Laurie “And all the people went up following him, playing on pipes and rejoicing with great joy.”—1 Kings 1:40
Blooms at the Arboretum One ~ Flower Garden 24 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas $199.00 Click here to contact me to Buy. A Painting a Day Such an interesting day....yesterday was filled with good visits at lunch and then UGH digging in my father in laws yard bringing home bulbs ready to pop open with blooms! Also brought home two little oak trees and one pecan tree. This painting is a passionate beauty and was a delight to paint. I received email last night from Diane Whitehead (ARTOUTWEST) with links to the dismal forecast with eBay. All of us wondering why bids dropped off...totally to ZERO. Has to do with ebay and Google duking it out and eBay's new adjustment to things where listings you put on eBay will not show up for almost a day and then you loose the freshness of NEWEST Listed. Those artists like me that pay $25-35 a listing to come up high in the searches are finding the investment is not worth the money. You end up only showing up in the almost ending searching, and only t
The Red Door, Garden Painting 8 x 10 inches Oil on Board A Painting a Day Good morning to all! I am up early to hit the easel running. TOO cold out side, but it keeps me shivering and dancing around the easel that is for sure. Will paint about six hours and then need to make 160 Sugar cookies for the bake off tomorrow as all my art students gather to decorate Christmas Cookies, bake CHOC CHOC CHIP cookies with crushed candy canes on top and the dipping of two barrels of Christmas Pretzels in white and dark Chocolate! YUMMMMM ...so much for the diet. This painting is a small one that has VERY thick paint on it...simply put, the RED DOOR. Not sure what is behind it, that is up to your imagination. Charlene, make sure you click on the painting to see it close up...a tiny bit blurry but the paint is obvious! Best to all...I am off to paint now! check out my newest blog...link on the right but I will try and put one here...an occasional Song of the Season. I always pick up my guitar for
