You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson With new years well underway, did you make resolutions?  Did you begin those resolutions?  To begin something to bring change to your life, you must begin it.  You must start it right now.  As for this day... if it is beginning, make it the best that it can be. Do not waste time thinking or

Maya Angelou My dad's favorite song was: Joyful, joyful we adore thee God of glory, Lord of love Hearts unfold like flowers before thee Opening to the sun above Melt the clouds of sin and sadness Drive the doubt away Giver of immortal gladness Fill us with the light of day. This is my song of choice to start each morning and especially in the shower!  It truly makes a remarkable difference in my entire day.   Do you have a favorite song?  Music is empowering! Every

There is no one alive who is Youer than You.” ― Dr. Seuss, Happy Birthday to You! Have to post a quick journal this morning thinking of the birth of my youngest son, Morgan. He is pictured above with his newborn son, Noah.   Morgan was a gift to our family and a surprise when I got pregnant.  Never knew how much love could be added to our family over the years from this youngest son.  God has blessed me with three beautiful children that have evolved and grown into strong loving adults.  We have a belief in our family that as Great Granddaddy Has

Letting go of the past means you can enjoy the dream that is happening right now.” ― Miguel Ruiz, The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom I do not like giving up control.   It creates a feeling of hopelessness and being helpless.  My parents taught me to always take control of situations and see them through.  With age I am learning quite the opposite.  Seems to work to my advantage if I surrender all of it to God.  Living in the NOW is important.  Forg

S. Lewis There was a story to this painting.  I have two versions of it.  The first one 24 x 30,  sold off ebay ten years ago.  One of the bidders was so upset not getting it that she bought another painting I had up at the same time..   I would not know that this collector would be diagnosed with brain cancer five years later and would die within that year.  Her husband contacted me two years later to repaint a large version of this painting for him to hang in their home.  He missed her so much and only he knew how much

The Lightbulb Moment with Texas Artist Laurie Pace

I know I have.  I am not a quitter and it really takes something I have repeatedly tried to do for me to walk away.  I do not ever remember giving up but once or twice in my entire life.  The why for me is simple.   I know when I question God about good coming from my feeble attempts to accomplish something... I need to stop questioning and start praying for Him to step in and lead the way. I can

Walt Whitman Do you have any friends that are not judgmental?  Do you realize how hard it is to find someone like that? Most of us have grown up in a world where we feel our opinion of things is important and especially feel our opinion of others and what they are doing is spot on.  Guess what... it is not.  We cannot walk in someone else's shoes to know what has made up all the experiences they have had in life. It is not our business if someone choses to leave work early or take a longer lunch.  If a co-worker or even a family me
