I remember my Grandmother would come in and sit in our formal living room, where the piano lived... and she would knit or sew while I practiced each evening. Made me feel special. That was about 11 years ago we lost Dad. In 11 more years, I will be his age when he passed. Sobering thought. Seems like daily something hits me in that manner to make me realize I want to live this last part of my life in a good place mentally.
