"Where's My Mama" Beagle Puppy Oil Painting, Dog Art by Laurie Justus Pace

'Where's my Mama?' 5 x 7 inches  Oil on Board Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie  © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2009 The Painting:  I am doing some small piece for the show at the Dutch Art Gallery. This is one I sketched out before coming sick and finally I painted it yesterday. The Thought:     Fighting the fog of sleep and hammering my hand across the nightstand I searched for the phone. The ringer is off in our bedroom but I could hear it ringing from the studio.  My half opened eyeball saw 12:10 a.m. on the clock and my thoughts were rampant by that second. I vaguely remember seeing a familiar phone number as I answered the phone.  It was our youngest son Morgan.  When I answered "Hello?" He prefaced his first words by saying don't worry I am not in jail, not in trouble, everything is okay....BUT.  Don't you hate those BUTS?  I was wide awake now.  His fiance Kel...
BOYS ON THE BEACH Azawakh Sight Hound Dog Art Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 48 inches SOLD . Commission Painting heading to the UK Contact me for commission Work and Pricing. Laurie This painting was unbelievable to paint. From the moment the photo arrived via the internet I was hooked. Nothing was going to get done in the studio until I painted these boys on the beach. I hope you enjoy the view and can feel the fun and play of these two gorgeous Azawakhs that live it the UK. (Azawakhs are sight hounds that originated in Mali.) Short blog today as I am going to try and cram cleaning the house in before leaving this morning for the hair dresser. I worked in the studio until eight thirty last night. Terry was watching TV. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like not to have to be responsible for so much stuff. Here it was getting late and I still was facing: cleaning paintbrushes, cleaning Annie's eyes and giving her medicine, emptying the dryer and folding two loads ...
DREAMING OF YOU Dog Whippet Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD THANK YOU!!!! This is my second Whippet to paint and this was suppose to be a horse! But as I was pulling the peach against the blue I could feel the dog in place of it and when I stepped back it was definitely there. The electrician is due this morning at eight thirty. She thinks she will finish up today with the wiring and next week Terry will address with her the breaker box. We need everything marked. Tonight will find hopefully working switches for the bedroom and our bathroom. It has been dark in there. On the list today is to line the painter up for the outside of the house. Also another Doc Trip with Mom to get her check up from the doc that took care of her in the hospital. She is growing stronger every day and that is obvious and something I give thanks for every waking moment. I took up a new quilt for her bed to her last night. I think she was surprised. Before she fell ill she had asked me about ours...
WHIPPET IN FLIGHT SOLD Only four hours of sleep will lead to a long day at the easel. I have been up for an hour and am getting ready to paint. I will have to stay concentrated and not stray from what I have ahead. I had a challenge from Anne Stark who raises Whippets in Ohio, to paint them. So you will see a new series of Whippets coming from my studio. They are majestic to watch running and are very similar to Greyhounds. Their swiftness is so close to the beauty of the horse running so I am excited about taking this on. DASH Diet. That is what they have my Mother on, the DASH DIET . Daily Approaches to Stop Hypertension. It will lower blood pressure in 14 days. Wonderful suggestions and recipes to go with it. A perfect guide for changing your diet. After conferencing with the dietitian, they decided with the exception of some of her lunch choices (Soup) Mom eats very well. Last night I prepared Wild Alaskan Salmon flown in early in the morning fresh, with organic broc...
NEWFOUNDLAND PUPPY for Niki Oil on Canvas 16 X 20 inches A Painting a Day Wednesday is a serious day working. I have been up since three this morning...leg cramps and noisy trains! I gave up going back to sleep and got up to work. I finished up this puppy for Niki for a summer trip and auction items for the gathering of the Newfies and their folks. I enjoy these freestyle commission pieces that allow you to feel and work the paint as you see it! I had started a brown newfie..you can turn the canvas sideways and see it...but scraped the canvas. Had a talky repair man that kept me off task and totally ruined my approach on the canvas. SOOO I started over on Monday and finished it off...I turned the canvas and serious GOT TO WORK! But it was fun! This morning Sunflowers at twilight are on the canvas with deep violets and blues...contrasting the soft yellows...will post it as soon as I finish it! Enfold someone you love that lives far away in your love today. Pray for them especially...
AIREDALE Attention 6 x 6 inch Oil on Panel A Painting a Day The storms were interesting yesterday. Conni Togel and daughter Annie Mae were flying in from Greensboro South Carolina in the late afternoon early evening hours. Storms gather southwest of us with tornadoes, 70 mile an hour straight line winds, hail etc and we determined the storm was to hit DFW International Airport at 6:35 pm. I scampered into the computer. Conni's flight was due at 6:35. As I pulled up the screen it was delayed to 6:43...as it departed Greensboro late. Not the best scenario. We left for the airport at five fifteen hoping to beat the weather to the garage parking outside the terminal. My daughter kept us abreast of the storm and we prayed that Conni's flight would somehow make it in before the storm and not be diverted. 30 min later as the rain began to lightly fall and the black/green clouds began gathering to the south of the airport, I called the info line to find her flight was due in at ...
