There are Lines EVERYWHERE in our lives... have you noticed?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Crossing the County Line Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   There are lines everywhere in life. State lines.  County lines.  Traffic lanes.  Rules.  Schedules.  Boundaries.  Sometimes it feels as though everything is telling us where to go and where not to go.   Looking again at my painting Crossing the County Line, I realized those feelings had found their way onto the canvas years ago. The horses live among lines, shapes and divisions, yet they seem to be searching for open space. Maybe we are sometimes doing the same thing. I remember the freedom of our years living at the lake—the woods, the stars, the quiet and simply having room to breathe.  Today I am learning that freedom isn't always about changing where we live. Sometimes it is about finding that open place within ourselves again and trusting God to lead us from there. ...

White Hydrangeas in Texas Heat — Rediscovering the Paintings Waiting Within

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 White Hydrangea Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   This morning I found myself wandering through old travel photographs from New York.   Those photographs of our two trips to New York, stirred memories that made me a little sad, but then something unexpected happened. Instead of looking backward, I began seeing paintings waiting to be created. White hydrangeas blooming in cool northern summers reminded me of the ones we struggle to keep alive through the relentless Texas heat. Every year, Terry faithfully waters, shades, and nurtures them, reminding me that beauty often requires patience and care. As I continued scrolling through years of photographs, I realized I wasn't simply revisiting memories—I was rediscovering inspiration. Rivers, forests, horses, flowers, wildlife, and quiet moments I had forgotten are now becoming the foundation for future paintings. Perhaps we all need to ask...

Have you ever been exhausted and exhilarated at the same time?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Exhausted Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Some days leave us wonderfully exhausted—not because of work alone, but because they were filled with family, laughter, unexpected moments, and reminders of what really matters. This Sunday reminded me that success isn't measured by how much we accomplish, but by how deeply we love. Perhaps the richest days are the ones we never planned. Summer Daze with sun and fun ....

This morning I found an old photograph of Lady L standing at my easel... © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Lady L Wonder Keeps Us Young This morning I found an old photograph of Lady L standing at my easel, completely absorbed in painting at just three and a half years old. She had already begun seeing the world through an artist's eyes. Looking at her reminded me that children don't paint to impress anyone. They paint because they love to discover. Perhaps that's one of summer's greatest gifts. Wonder keeps us young. Gratitude keeps us at peace. Faith keeps us moving forward. Sometimes the greatest lessons come from slowing down long enough to see the world through the eyes of a child once again. Life Moving Forward through the Seasons

Red Moon Rising and the Seasons of Grace © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Red Moon Rising Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Several years ago, while living at the lake, I stood in my studio and watched the Red Moon rise across the water. I thought I was simply gathering inspiration for a painting. Looking back now, I believe God was quietly preparing my heart for seasons I had not yet imagined. Life moves through seasons. Childhood.  Marriage.  Family.   Career.   Loss. Healing.   Death.   Renewal. Some chapters are filled with celebration.  Others seem impossible to understand while we're living them.  Yet Scripture reminds us that God is faithful through every one of them. "The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps." — Proverbs 16:9 This past week something changed in my studio.   For the first time in a long while, I felt th...

Count them down... one, two three, four, five!

There were Five © Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2026 Sketch  by Laurie Pace   Where My Thoughts Wander... Every morning begins with Scripture, prayer, and a new day waiting to unfold. Yet, like so many of us, I can find my thoughts drifting toward tomorrow's worries instead of today's blessings. This week, a conversation with friends and a passage from an old devotional reminded me that God's answers often arrive quietly—not when we chase them, but while we faithfully live the day He has already given us. Sometimes the greatest peace comes when we stop searching for all the answers and simply trust the next step.
