The colors were from the original large painting that I did not like, so I scraped the canvas and reapplied paint to it and to this canvas. Both in life and on canvas, you have the 'given' and you use it to the best of your ability to make something out of yourself, or in this case out of the scraped paint put back on the canvas.  The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,     and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  The storm blew in so quickly it caught us off guard.  We have had such a drought situation that rain was a word only whispered and remembered from another time in another decade or another universe. North Texas is in extreme drought. As the storm broke mid afternoon the thunder roared and the rain blew out of the southeast almost diagonally like millions of sharp arrows hitting the two story windows in our family room.  The storm lasted about 90 minutes before it lessened and began to dissipate.  I knew I felt like painting and hurried into the studio just as the four o'clock afternoon sun broke through the clouds and the entire yard was filled with vivid colors from the garden, the roses and the green lawn.
